Hi,

Like Lambda I registered here some time ago but then didn't post, so here's a quick intro to fix that.

I'm from Lancashire, UK.
Have a black tractor that I love (mode-T = tractor right?).
Just back from a very social-distanced camping trip in Scotland.

You don’t mean Yorkshire puddings and gravy this time do you?

No, I love it. Something as basic as biscuits/scones/Yorkshire pudding. . . . If I were to go there, and order something. . . . or they were to come here, and order something. . . . WE had better ask before ordering. :D No telling what we would end up with. I've lived in all four corners of the US, and in between, and it depends on where you are here, as to what you're going to get. So, throw multiple countries into the mix. . . . greatness.

I was telling someone the other day, I met one three vacationers from Holland; 1 male, and 2 females. At 6', I was the shortest in the group. They also informed me that our "imported from Holland" Heineken. . . . is not what is served in Holland. And, they weren't impressed with it. I got invited onto a British frigate once. At the time, they were allowed two pints of rum, and all the beer they wanted. Their beer was from Courage Brewery, and came in steel cans. I don't know what the alcohol content was, but it was w-a-a-ay above the US's.

Love it, you would love a trip to the chippy (chip shop) here, that would be an experience.

Even that can have its challenges here between north and south and that’s just a few hundred miles.

I asked for pudding chips peas and gravy with plenty salt and vinegar in a chip shop down south once, they looked at me like I was from another planet

My wife into a chip shop here and asked for my order of smacks, she was from just 15 miles away and thought I was joking, she came out with… smacks (battered slices of potato).

Food fun

Yeah, I don't imagine you'd be impressed with our "fish-n-chips". Around here, Long John Silver's is as close as you're going to get. I like it, but I'm sure it's not authentic. When I was a kid, we lived in Southern Michigan. Arthur Treacher's was "the" fish-n-chips place around there. When we moved to Arizona, we traded in the fish for the wonderful sKones.
