Hello everyone, my name is John. My experience with riding road bikes is now in it's 35th year. As a youngster I also was blessed with some experience riding dirt bikes, but I really didn't get serious with that until I got back into it in 1999. A transition to an adventure bike has been looming in my head for some time now, and it just seemed like the right next choice for a bike.
Well, I am now a proud new owner of a new 2013 ST, and I'm definitely liking my choice to go with this one for my first adventure bike.
I (like many), daydreamed of one day owning a BMW R 1200 GS to ride the roads and trails that I normally would pass by on other road bikes I was riding. The KTM was also way up there on a choice for my wishlist for such a bike. When the Yamaha Super Tenere came on the scene here in the States, my homework began with looking into it... and I have to say, that the bang for the buck helped make this a reality.
I am enjoying the moments that I can get in some seat time with it now, really looking forward to being able to use it for its potentials after the break in period.
The general manager of the dealership where I purchased it from has been very helpful as well, and when I found out that he sold his R 1200 GS to recently purchase the ST, it just made me feel even better on my decision ( especially with all the experience he has behind the bars ).
The information I have found on this forum has also been very helpful indeed, thanks!
I'm very much looking forward to the adventures of this next chapter on two wheels. Cheers! ::022::
