I've been lurking for a couple months and decided this forum was worth the potential spam!

Looking to buy a 2014 ST next month, my second bike, after discovering that I just don't like the bike I bought earlier this year. Any advice?

Anyway, thanks for having me!

Do some bike tasting before you buy another bike. Depending on your background and riding experience, it may be difficult to sort out what features you desire and what ones you dislike in a motorcycle. Try getting some demo rides in on various bikes that interest you. That can sometimes be challenging in the PacNorWet this time of year, but make some calls to dealers and inquire if demo/test rides are possible and stress how you are interested in that particular bike.

Are you familiar with the WetLeather email list? It's high volume and can be like trying to take a sip from a fire hose, but tons of knowledge and support there too.

I've already done the smart thing and did several longer test rides on all the 2014-ish model adventure bikes (except the Stelvio, the only Motoguzzi I want is from the '50s or '60s) and decided that I wanted the ST.

WetLeather email list? Nope, never heard of it!

Welcome from the east side foothills!

Tons of great information here on all things Tenere. Lots of good deals out there for both used and new, although current Yamaha incentives make it hard to justify a used machine...

Good luck!

Welcome from another wet side rider! There is a great group of Tenere riders in the PNW. Find the Facebook page "PNW Super Tenere Owners" if you're a FBer. There is also a blog for those not on FB. Great folks to ride with and talk Teneres with.

Sounds great. Glad you scored some good demo rides.

Here a link for the Wetleather email list. It may be more volume that you're interested in, but can offer opportunities for everything from recipes to rides to job contacts. http://micapeak.com/mailman/listinfo/wetleather It's a social list, more or less centered around motorcycling.
