Hello from San Diego

Just picked up my new 2012 Tenere today. Big thanks to the forum for helping me decide on the purchase over the BMW, Vstrom, Tiger. Finally chose the Yamaha because of the reliability, and I had an FJR before, and I liked the quality. After just 50 miles, my 1st impression is that the bike is smoother, and lighter in handling then I thought it would be. The dealer did not let me take it for a test ride before purchase. I like the way the engine growls....


Planning to ride to Cabo, and then over to Puero Vallarta in Nov. with my 79 year old friend that rides a BMW 1150. This guy rode to Tierra Del Fuego on the same bike only a few years ago, so he's a bad azz.
