Hi I'm Bos from Napa, CA and I'm a recovering BMW rider. I picked up a new to me 2013 Super Tenere w/16k on it from another member. It's already re-flashed by one of Guru's on here and has the 2014 cam chain tensioner and clutch basket. I just spent the weekend working on it and am "In Love" with the bike, this forum and my wife for encouraging me to jump on it. I have hardly sworn while getting new Mitas on it and cleaning up the brake pistons etc. This forum gave me the courage to pull the pumpkin and lube the splines. WOW! That was easy! ::015::

Welcome from the west coast of Canada.
Sounds like you got a good one with lots of trouble free miles ahead for you. They are a pretty straight forward bike regarding most maintenance.
I tend to wimp out on the Mitas tire mounting ordeal and take the wheels to my sons shop where he has a tire machine.

Thanks. I took them to my local independent guy and he did. I'm not patient enough for that either.

Hi Toadman, I'm over in Petaluma. Welcome to the forum. I almost never see other STs on the road but I know we're out there. You have the fastest color FYI. ::019::

Just curious which beemer? And welcome from Iowa.
I've had almost every model of GS including an R80GS/PD. The most recent was a R100GSPD. I tend to buy and sell bikes every few years. I just got real tired of how the dealerships have become and the lack there of when needed or desired. But this thing seems to be pretty low maintenance and very user friendly. In 07' I purchased an R1200GS non-abs and put 37k on it in 18 months. I even rode to Iowa to introduce my soon to wife to my Mom! My wife rode her F650GS. That was right before the big flood. My sister and Mom etc live in Cedar Falls. I took my family to the state fair last Aug. But I started riding Beemers in 1984 and am a long time Airhead, but it was time for a change and I'm liking it. Oh, I I HATE the ridiculous Canbus system BMW has ::010::
