Just wanted to say Hello to everyone, and thank you all for putting together such a great forum! I would like you all to know that the info and advice I've been able to search for and find on this site has been extremely helpful with my decision to purchase a new S10. ::012:: Provided I get out of work on time tomorrow, I'll be taking delivery on a new leftover 2012 in Raven Black ::015:: The demo ride was nice, but way too short. Can't wait to take the first ride as an owner. ;D

Hi from a neighbor, just up the road from you in Hillsboro. I rode to Greenville a couple weeks ago when the Riders doing the Cannonball Centennial Run stayed overnight. Several Super Tenere's in that group. Plus, that gave me an excuse to ride that fun Red Ball Trail from Coffeen.

Hey All, thank you for the responses.

Just made it home from the dealership with my new bike earlier tonight.... Truly excited about my purchase, even happier with the deal I got and really looking forward to the miles to come.

Greg, I am familiar with Dix, as I grew up in and around Marion County, not far from you at all. Thanks for pointing out the Oct. rally, it is something I'd really like to do, but will not be able to say for sure if I'll be able to get away until the date gets a little closer.

Fredz, lol @ the Red Ball Trail. It is almost embarrassing to admit that is one of the funner roads to ride on around here. I love my hometown, but having lived in SE MO for the past couple years, it's a bit disappointing to be back home. I also got a chance to meet a few of the riders (most of the one's I talked to were on Tenere's) when they were in town earlier this month on the centennial ride. That was basically the straw that broke the camels back as far as me pondering the decision to get a new bike.

It would be great to meet up with you IL guys one day soon. While this site offers loads of info, I would welcome the chance to see and hear about your experiences in person. Let me know if you're going to be out and about anywhere close with some time to kill (I have day job so would need to be an eve or weekend) and I'll meet you there.

Hi Chuck,

Yeah, you have to ride the Red Ball pretty fast for it to be fun. A couple decent curves near Coffeen, but that's it. I agree that MO has some of the best roads in the USA. I hosted a Tenere ride out of Park Hills a couple years ago and showed about a dozen S10 riders and our Yamaha rep one of my favorite 300 mile loops of those fantastic Ozark back roads. We'll have to see if folks are interested in doing that again. I had a day job once, but I gave that up in 2003. Retired now, so have plenty of time for a ride and visit. Let me know when you want to get together and I'll ride down your way. Probably a weekend is best, as I wouldn't care to ride the red Ball at night, as there are too many 4 legged critters out and about. I totaled a Concours one night in 1992 when I hit one and don't want to do that again.

Chuck i would like to meet up and ride as well. I have a day job as well. But this week and next i am trying to remodel my bathroom. not a very good carpenter so i am slow. You can pm me any time. Enjoy the new bike and try not to spend to much money on all the extra stuff you need.
