Hello from Estonia

Hi there!

I am Enn from Tallinn, Estonia and I am in search for a new bike. I currently have 2008 Yamaha FJR 1300 AS (AE in NA) as well as V-strom 650 2015. As the test ride possibilities of S10 here are pretty limited I wonder if any one who have had experience with Fjr or V-strom could give me a short comparison to S10, among others on issues like:
- ride in twisties
- 2 up
- motorways
- wind protection
- city commute
- ride comfort
- maintenance costs
- S10 2017 manual suspension vs ES

Hi Enn, lots of former owners of both bikes here, so they should be along to comment soon. I myself had a Gen 1 and Gen 2 FJR, and a Gen 1 ST, so can comment on a few. The ST has a more upright and open seating position. The bars are wider, though there is more sweep, which can cause some people some discomfort. Wind protection is a bit more work on the ST, and there were a few times I was missing the electric windscreen. Going from an inline-4 1300 to a parallel twin 1200 means that the engines have much different characteristics, especially in roll on power on highways. The ST is tuned more for torque, so seems busier, and not as quick, but it really does have plenty of power for nearly all road conditions. Again, there were a few times I missed the acceleration rush of the FJR, but overall for me, the Tenere was a much better fit.
