Does anyone have any experience with this fog light kit:
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-Tenere-XTZ1200-XTZ750-brackets/dp/B01LDE7SI8/ref=sr_1_71?ie=UTF8&qid=1520117651&sr=8-71&keywords=yamaha+super+tenere

I'm tempted by the price, but have found next to nothing in the forums about Hella Micro DE fog lights.

Any other brands/models to consider or that you'd recommend? I've a buget of $300-350 for auxillary lights, and would prefer to mount to my SW Motech crash bars rather than under the main headlights. Looking to help see at night and be seen.

you are correct, IanInTheUsa, I could find nothing useful on the Hella Micro DE fog lights using the google.

personally, I went with the PIAA Led out of the Yamaha OEM Catalog, partly because I had them on my 2012 [now on a 2015],
their clean appearance under the headlights and they are nicely bright.....

The Hella Micro DE lights are good lights, just an older generation, which is why you don't see current reviews for them. I've seen them in action may times on other bikes, though have not had a pair myself.

The thing to remember about lights is that the reflector size makes a lot of difference, especially with halogen and HID. This kit is too expensive for what you're getting. Halogen lights are old school now, for $300 you can get better LED lights that draw less power and put out more light. The HID version of these was popular because it was a very small footprint.

The PIAA brackets are not my favorite, as I have had them come loose. They do offer good adjustability. The amazon kit is just things you can buy on your own at a steeper price because they put it together for you. You don't need that shield. It's just bling.

I've been running KC Hilites mounts for years and they refuse to move or break. KC Link
Just note that the price is for one, not a pair. For 7/8" bars you use a rubber insert. For 1" bars, no insert needed.

Check out LEDRider. Great seller and he's a rider too, not just some re-seller of trash. He stands behind his lights and keeps the quality up. If you have a problem, you're dealing with a stand up guy that is here in the US and will take care of you. https://ledrider.com/

Try going to superbrightleds.com. They have light "pods" for motorcycles and harnesses for a quarter or less what you will pay at revzilla or Twisted throttle, etc. Also look under the section titled "work lights" for even more choices. Huge amount of sizes, lumens, beam spread and the quality is good. Make sure you match terminals to harnesses. Some of them are just pigtails. Others are DT. Also specify waterproof switched harness. Dual output. $23.00. Lifetime warrantee.
