I have got some heed crash bars for my s10 from a breaker yard , minus the centre bracket that bolts up on the engine behind the forks.
i was wondering if anyone else with heed crash bars on there s10 could tell me the dimensions of this bracket so I can fabricate one.

Ok here goes and without taking them off the bike.
With reference to the picture below the centre section is 180x25mm and each "leg" is then a further 80mm bent to a 120 degree angle. You will also see some bracing in there for added strength.
The 2 verticals are 80x25mm but widen at the top to 40mm to accomodate the radius for the bolt - if that makes sense. The first part of the vertical is 15mm(effectively making the centre section 40mm wide at that point) but I cant measure the angle they are then bent to, but I estimate it to be about 15 degrees.
It is fabbed from 6mm steel.
I hope that helps but if you don't understand anything let me know and I'll try and explain further.

I put the Heed bars on after having SW Motech stainless steel ones on for 10 days, they looked good when fitted but didn't look so good after sliding down the road at 30-35 because of a bloody sheep and at that point I'd only had the bike for 14 days. Everything looked superficial but I managed to wipe out the radiator and fan and the bodywork turned out to be a mess, but at least I could repair and paint that. I must say that the Heed bars feel more sturdy than the others though
