Since I don't spend a lot of time on the internet and to save a lot of reading,..... can someone weigh in on heated grips for the Tenere? I just can't see $400 for a set of Yamaha grips. What grips have worked the best for those who chose other than Yamaha? I installed grips on another bike, but no where near the expense. Also, doesn't the Tenere have a wire already in place? Thanks in advance.

Just installed Symtec's with the Warm & Safe heat troller and new grips this past weekend. You can buy the kit directly from Warm & Safe. Temps were in the 40's and I didn't have to turn them up over 50%.

Another happy Symtec user. I just use the 2 position switch. Be sure you wire them to switched power.

I went with the Oxford Premium Adventure kit wired to the OEM grip connector for $80.

Hey guys, thanks for the response. It seems that others will work just fine and save a lot of $$ to boot.

I did like Fred did with under the grip heaters with a Hi/low toggle switch... around $40. I've run them on all my bikes from WAY back in the day. I also have a Gerbing heated jacket liner and i added the Powerlet heated gloves (they seem to have a bit more crash protection than the Gerbing gloves). I mostly use the heated grips to extend a riding day... almost home getting chilly... just turn on the heated grips and I'm good until I get home.
If it's really cold or I'm starting out and it's cold I go with the Gerbing and the heated gloves. ::008:: ::008::

I have used the $45 heated grips from Aerostich that are wrapped around the existing grips and held on with Velcro. I've used them for a few years on two different bikes, not my Super Tenere which has the Yamaha heated grips. I like the easy installation of the Aerostich grips--just wrap them around the grip and go. The heat is about like the middle setting of the Yamaha heated grips. For the money and quick installation, they've been a good choice. Dan

Low cost, the ability to use grips of your choice, develop your own mount: Symtec.
Low cost, multiple heat settings, grips provided, controller mount provided, battery saving mode: Oxford.
High cost, multiple heat settings, grips provided, factory fit and finish, easy install: Yamaha.

I have owned all three (Oxford and Yamaha for the S10). I believe with the extra features the Oxford is a better value than the Symtec. I personally did not like the super glue mounting method recommended by Oxford, nor the quality of the connectors.
