Heat is not an issue on my S10 (I'm 6.3). I just came back from Death Valley where it was 124°F. The fan was on often. I had a test ride on a Tiger 800 once and could feel the heat right away, but not on the S10.

The only time I notice this on my Tenny or FJR is when I do not wear the proper gear. Hot with jeans on but a good pair of mesh pants with the solid protection on the inner leg, no problem !!

I'm sorry but this bike is miserable as soon at the temps go over 80 degrees due to the blast furnace coming out of the left side. I just got back from a one hour jaunt (wearing mesh riding pants) and had to cut it short because it felt like my leg was on fire. It's only 85 degrees. WTF is 95 or higher like?!!! I haven't been that miserable on a bike since I rode a buddies 2008 C-14 in the summer. That thing was unridable IMHO when it was above 90 degrees.

Does everyone live in Alaska or something? I can't believe it just my bike and folks are okay with this issue.

I'm surprised by your description. Texas ain't Alaska. However, I don't think Florida has anything on us in regards to the heat index.

I'm not saying the radiator heat exchange process doesn't result in hot air being expelled by the left side cooling process, but most have described it as less of a problem than many/most other bikes they have owned or ridden.

There are a ton of fellas on this site that would change places with you in a second. They have their bikes in storage for MONTHS because of the cold weather.

Sorry to hear it was that bad of a riding experience.

I dont have any problems and live in Texas. But I'm only 5'7". If you are a giraffe, and your leg sits right on that side panel then I could see it would get hot. If your sitting in stopped traffic with your left leg up on the peg then your asking for heat also, I can even feel that on a cool day. But I have ridden it for 8+ hours in 90 degrees plus without issue, so I cant help ya really.

I really think this is an exaggerated issue. You could be riding a k100rt or even a honda superhawk or rc51. The k is unbearable to even ride about 80 degrees. When I say unbearable, i mean it ends up parked. The two hondas have radiators on both legs with far less fairing overhang, meaning you get hit by it on both legs, although it is even. I did get too hot on the super ten once, but it was 100 degrees and I was over 15 hours in on the bike. ended that day after 21 hours.

Yeah, it's just me. Glad you're not affected. Thanks for the comments.

I'm curious how folks can't feel the heat rolling off this thing which is hitting my left knee at speed. If I take my glove off and place it on my knee while riding, it's only a few moments before I have to move it.

Yes, before everyone rolls in hot on me about how bike X is/was worse, I get it. I can always be worse, you win. I'm just venting because it's affecting me and I can't see myself riding this bike in weather over 85 degrees. Yes, it CAN be done but it's just not a pleasant experience.

I know for a fact I'm not alone in my experiences. I'm curious to see the solutions folks have come up with.

I feel as if the S10 diverts the heat away well for the driver. When moving, it deflects out and around my left leg, but the pillion gets the most of it. When stopped in traffic, my left foots down, so my knee really doesn't get it at all. Dunno what to say...

So wish this was Jo Momma. Thanks for the comments.

You're right, never rode in heat before. Maybe that's it. ::)

Do you feel any heat coming out the gap between the fairing and the tank?
