Hey all!

I seriously considering doing this, or part of it in 2015.
Looks like a great route and the little bit of interaction I've had with it's creator has been top notch.
Has anyone here experienced it?
Is the S10 a good choice to do it on?

Thanks in advance!

I've noticed a few general responses on this forum....

1. It's ultra cool so you get a response

2. It's not liked so you get slammed hard....repeatedly :D

3. It's the weekend, just give it time.

I've never heard of this route and if it were closer, I'd consider it. It looks pretty amazing.

Looks interesting, but I can't say for sure if any of that trail covers the part of Colorado we were in last year for the rally (which would be the only part of it I've ridden).

I haven't ridden any of the back country discovery routes. Friends of mine that have, including on Super Tens, have said that much of it can be done on any bike, but the challenging sections are more suited for lighter bikes, or you need to be well armored up for the bike. One friend, with two others, all on S10s, ended up with the other two guys holing their oil pans, despite AltRider skid plates. (the other guy had Rumbux and no issues, now they all have Rumbux). All three pretty much agreed that the UTBCDR would have been easier on a 650 instead of the big S10.

The routes proposed look like an awesome two week or more trip, and it's very nice that he set it up with alternate in and out runs so you're not locked into the entire route if you don't have the time. You might just ask him what he things about it being suited for a 600lb ADV touring bike?

Here's the thread for the genesis of what is today's Heart of the West route.

I was on the KLR.

You can see the variety of bikes we had.

Tony Huegel will hook you up. Let home now the typt of bike and your skill level. He will customize the route to fit your abilities, time available and any specific desires for thigns to see.

It's a great route. You will love it.
