Great info on the recall, checked my vin on the site link from previous page and it showed an open recall on my '13. I was just snooping on the forums because tha last week or so the low beams didn't come on when started the bike only after I toggled it into High beam and then back. This AM no Hi or low.

The headlight wire sub-harness recall had nothing to do with the toggling of the High/Low beam. The recall was due to the heat generated by the bulbs melting the plugs. If you cannot toggle the High/Low beam, start by checking the little plug of the sub-harness that toggles the beam. The sub-harness has two plugs for the headlights, two plugs for the running lights and a little plug for the beam.

There isn't really a hi-lo beam. It's the same bulbs, both on at the same time, all the time, same intensity, there's just a shutter that lifts out of the way so light can shine through more of the lens so the light reaches further down the road. If either or both of the lights have failed to come on with engine start, things need to be checked into. If the vibration caused by the shutter moving is making the light(s) come on you've probably have burned out bulbs and the vibe is causing the elements to reconnect.
AV, I pretty much thought the o-ring and the harness were on the same batch of bikes, the harness on a larger span of vin#...
