Looks like they are advertised as different but does anybody know why I could not move them from my 2012 to a possible 2014? I didn't think the frame or anything was different.
The difference between the two is if the 2014 is an ES model. As I recall, some of the hardware for the ES is now mounted where it interfered with the mounting of some pannier racks from the Gen 1 model.becoyote said:Looks like they are advertised as different but does anybody know why I could not move them from my 2012 to a possible 2014? Correct... I bought a set of Gen1 H&B frames for my 2014 ES ..... I had to do a fair bit of modifying them to make them fit .....AVGeek said:The difference between the two is if the 2014 is an ES model. Dirt_Dad said:There is a difference for the ES model. There's some tricky stuff going on behind the right passenger peg and the mounting of a suspension piece that is also back there. I had to get Caribou to send me some extra pictures of how to mount it. At first, I thought it was going to be impossible. It's not. I don't recall any tricky voodoo going on when I mounted the '12 HB rack.
No my '12 HB rack was damaged when the bike was totaled. It became property of the insurance company. The pictures of important to the 14+ ES install are here: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=16355.msg251880#msg251880becoyote said:This was putting 2012 racks on a 14?
No, that is not correct!becoyote said:Thanks, so the year doesn't matter. Just ES vs. Non-ES
