If it says JASO MA/MA2, then it's certified to be safe to use in a wet clutch motorcycle engine. Not having the JASO MA/MA2 certification doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't safe (not all manufacturers submit their oil to the certification process), but if it does have that certification written on the container, it will definitely be safe (for the clutch).
A secondary consideration would be if the oil has a diesel rating of "CD" listed on the container. The owner's manual specifically references not to use oils with a diesel specification of "CD" (it's on page 7-15). I'm not sure why, and I don't think that's even a current diesel oil rating, but that's what the manual says. As far as I can tell from my research, the "CD" rating was superseded back in '94.
