Wow. . . . that has got to be one of the fugliest bikes I have ever seen. I can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of something. Maybe an old, upright vacuum cleaner. Also, I wish I was a celebrity, and turn my love of motorcycling into a money making venture. I know it sounds like sour grapes, but I didn't even know he rode one.
This was my thoughts back in 2018...

and people think my bike is ugly from the front.

I agree that more choice is good in the Adventure market...but wow, that's quite a look.

Now you can say it really hauls the mail. Cause it has a mailbox up front.

Seriously I hope it does well. Still not shaft drive.

As I said before, I thought it looked better in person. It appears they are still going for the high end buyer with their pricing. My take is if you wanted a Harley for touring (Road only) in a sporty/ADV fashion, this is your bike. I applaud the effort, but if you’ve got that kind of money to spend, there’s lots of competition.

Although I don't see myself buying one at this point, I hope it turns out to be a really good bike and that Harley does well with it. More competition more choices and more successful American companies are always a good thing. I can't help thinking Harley should have waited for this bike before sponsoring the Long Way Up series. I think the Pan American has a MUCH higher likelihood of sales success (assuming the price is competitive) than the Livewire. Having said that Harley needs to do something PR-wise to give the bike some cred...

The LC GS started the fugly adv look, KTM one upped them and now Harley has its eyes on the prize.

I've always liked the looks of the GS; second only to the Tiger. The KTM reminds me of one of the aliens from the movie Battleship: alien.jpg But, the H-D. . . . . maybe an old, rear-engine mower my dad used to have in the '70s? Depends on the angle I see it from. It does not look modern regardless of what it looks like. And, maybe that was their goal. . . . to entice/attract the hipsters. Mr. Bertrand is right. . . . it would have made a lot more sense to have used this bike.

I still think ktm is the worst looking.
Even more than the H-D Hoover?! :D

If the KTM looked different, I might be riding one today. It looks like some alien from a video game.

To me the Harley looks like Rosey the robot maid from The Jetsons. Actually she did have a vacuum cleaner built into her.

I liked the look of the GS up till 2012. From 2013 the beak looked like it came from the set of Alien.

Lord knows I didn't buy the KTM for its looks. Now that I've gotten to know it, the looks don't detract my affection for what it does for me
