Hardwired GPS & Switched

Working on simplifying things a bit (or maybe complicating depending on your point of view) so I installed a little hardwired GPS adapter (mini USB). Here it is in it's new home next to the battery:



I wanted to be able to run the GPS with the bike ignition turned off, but I also didn't want the USB adapter running down the battery when it's not needed. I rummaged through my electrical parts box and found this switch I had purchased from Eastern Beaver. This is the On/Off "Little Pushbutton" found here:

Well, it fits perfectly in these holes. I don't know what these holes are for (maybe the Yamaha side deflectors?) but I know what I'm using them for!



Added a little wiring on to switch the hot side and it works like a charm. I also finished up wrapping up the wires from the Rostra cruise install and whipped up a little bracket to hold the cruise control pad.
