Well, I had to do it. I just had to do something motorcycley today. Not much choice but to haul my trailer out of the snowbank. Gotter done. With the help of Cecil the diesel. Yessir. The first pic is where it was; next shows Cecil; you can figure the rest ... little brown building is the sauna ... aw, maaaaaaaaannnnnn. It looks like the pink washed off the trailer during the winter.
Now .... what to do tomorrow ?????? R ::008:: ::001::

Now you see why I'm so cranky all the time. Aw, really, it ain't nothing for us old northern dogs. Just part of doing business. But the days are getting longer and the temp is getting higher and I'm getting hot to trot. I guess I'll start fondling my riding gear now each day. Stuff like that there. Maybe something else is buried out there in the snow. I guess if I find a motorcycle buried in the snow, I might be a redneck. R ::025:: ::008::

We can get anything weather-wise up until May. It's looking like an early spring, but too soon to tell just yet. I could sure use one. So today, for my motorcycley adventure, I'm gonna put my new Pit-Bull trailer restraint in the back of my trailer. Not install it, just put it in there. I guess I need a bike to install it. And something warmer than minus 10. Hey, it's something. A guy's gotta do ...... NOOOOOOBODY KNOOOOOOOOWS. R. ::012::

It was +12 here this morning thanks for making me feel warmer. We have the same weather here. I have seen 18" of snow here in June but it only lasted 1 day. I helped my son get a black Super Tenere ready for a new customer yesterday and now I am really excited to get my new bike here. I will be here in March .

Okay, I have to confess ... your +12 and my minus 10 are about the same. Damn! But you guys can send money anyway. It sounds colder. R ::002::

I love those pictures showing the enormous space you folks have there. Was in Canada (Vancouver and Whistler) last summer, and that to me would be heaven for riding my S10.

Keep those pictures comin' Rem. I envy you despite all that snow, we have bad weather 300 days a year, all through the year......

Good on you Rem! I need to do the same one of these days. Between my latest remodeling project and our trip to Maui and now Texas, my poor motorcycle has been so neglected. The only thing remotely close to motorcycles was to visit Tabasco (Jaxon) during my time in the Fort Worth area at my Daughters. We are now in Midland visiting Nancy's Son and he showed me his new R1 yesterday. WOW! Nice bike, but the ergos would never work for this old guy!

Yeah, that R1 looks pretty frisky for an old guy .... uh, a mature minded individual like yourself. I was on something like that a while back. Had a bunch of young wimmen staring at me, until I took my helmet off. But it was fun to watch them recoil in horror at their error in assumptions .... CODGER POWER ROCKS !!!!!! R ::008::

I feel for you guys in the cold country, would love to visit you in the summer, but you can have your winters...
Here in Albuquerque, NEW MEXICO, we've had one snow storm a week that leaves a few inches of snow, makes everyone drive like idiots, then is melted and gone the next day.
Just the way I like it. ;) Since I STILL don't have a Tenere sitting in my garage yet, I had to settle for what is still there...
Last weekend, I took my DR650 out for a nice long dirt ride, out on the Indian reservation. Nice sandy riverbeds for about 30 miles, then climbed out and went up some small hills in the area, ran into a jeep caravan, and finally headed back into the city. Temps got up to 55 degrees F.
Friday, I leave on my ST1300 for a weekend ride down to big Bend, Texas. Like you guys, our cold overnite temps, (20 - 30 F), have kept me close to home and I'm itching to get out and RIDE! It's supposed to be in the high 50's for the whole weekend, which is good enough for me to pretend it is summer.

Just keep up the hope that it will be a short winter, and shorter spring. Keep working on that list of Farkles, and summer will be here soon enough!

I'm presently here as well - visiting friends. Could be riding today for sure as it is in the upper 50's. Tomorrow we head north for home with an expected high for the day n the mid 30's.

Nice day today. Almost 0 °C (think 32 °F). So I pulled my motorcycle trailer ahead about 10 feet, plowed behind it, and then moved it back. Man, that was some fun. ::012:: ::012:: ::012:: R

OK ... further to the intimate association with my motorcycle fascination .... today, I will take my new, fancy schmancy Pitt-Bull trailer restraint (Thanks, Roy) down to my local, friendly Yamaha dealer and make sure it fits on a Tenere properly. The first set up they sent me, the right side pin didn't fit properly. I sent them an explanation and some pics and they immediately made me a new one and sent it on. So I'll try it out today, then over the weekend I'll take my trailer in, use one of their Teneres (likely the black one as it's better made) to set it up, and bolt that sucker down. So there ... I can have fun if I've a mind to. ::26:: R

Rem, So when do you suppose you are making your spring migration south to fetch your wheels? Winters are long and hibernation takes it's toll on the little creatures, the journey is due and happy life will blossum quickly once again!!! (I have been watching too much of the Planet Series on National Geographic!!) Run free my two wheeled friend!!!

Enjoy the thaw REM!!!

Thanks for asking ..... tentatively, I have two weeks worth of motorcycle-money-generating work the first two weeks of May. Then likely May 16 I will fly to Calgary, spend a couple days with Camshaft who is currently looking after my bike (What a Guy !!), then start ambling my way back home circa May 19 or 20. Visit friends in Vanderhoof, B. C. for a couple days then kick 'er on into Whitehorse about the end of the month. By then, I'll be able to ride anywhere I want, and I'll scarcely have a month to get ready for all you rowdies. ::008:: ::003:: ::003:: ::003:: ::003:: ::003:: R.

Well, had a pretty good day today. My trail is almost done. Got another day, maybe day and a half, and I can hit the road with my big fat Honda ST1300. Here's some pics. Almost got 'er done. MY three new best friends are Mr. Pick, Mr. Shovel and Mr. Ice Scraper. But I'm gonna dump 'em pretty soon ..... don't want to stay friends forever. ::014:: ::014:: Gettin' 'er done R ::008:: ::008:: ::012::
