For those who still don't get it, greetings from Salt Lake City, UT ;). Great state to ride with all the mountains, deserts, canyons, and off road carnage. Good people here and since the Olympics passed through most are a bit more tolerant of my choice of beverage (imports and micro-brews).

Ordered the Ténéré in the beginning of January to eventually replace my Multistrada and DR650. Been pestering Yamaha for some time to bring an adventure bike here, first the 660 and then the Super Ténéré. I was on a quest to find the right bike for some time. Problems with dealers, spending thousands in performance farcles with limited improvements, and bikes not fulfilling my desired uses have caused me to buy every few years . I have no illusion that the Ténéré will be perfect but I do have confidence it will remain reliable for many years and tens of thousands of miles. I also have confidence that it is designed to meet the demands of an adventure rider. In any case after riding a Kawasaki, Triumph, Suzuki, and Ducati over the past 15 years I look forward to the opportunity to own a Yamaha Adventure bike. Hope to see some of you on the roads and trails. But right now riding is limited by snow and ice to an occasional commute. :))

Welcome David to the XT12 holding area. :)

This is another good place for information on our to date $500.00 investments. Thats of course not counting all the mail order totals. ???

I have seen some great ride reports from folks that have made rides in Utah. Good looking motorcycle country.

Welcome from Tampa, switchback. Utah's a great state. It'll definitely be part of my S10 trip plans.

Utah is a great place with much riding diversity. Having lived and ridden through UT, CO, ID, & MT for the past 3+ decades you just cannot go wrong in the Rocky Mountain States. Looking through the member intros I am surprised there aren't others from UT on the forum.

Welcome David,
I spent X-mas in Park City, what a wonderful area. I bet there is some great riding out there, I'd love to get out there when i get my Super Tenere :)
I really enjoyed the brews out there too(Polygamy Porter)

Hi Switchback. Welcome.

I'm planning a ride out to Utah in the summer of 2012. Given our Off-time we thought we would fly our bikes out (and ourselves) ride Utah for a week, then ride home back to the east coast.
we're just in the planning stages, but we're looking for transport company take our bikes out there ahead of time, store them and when we get there we'll be all set to ride. If you have any suggestions, by all means let me know.

Raven Black Tnere on order.

Sorry, I cannot recommend any shippers. Might look at the March 2011 Dirt Rider as they have a section on shipping and a list of carriers.
