New member here: Jim Bryson. Bought a new-to-me 2014 ES with 2500 on the clock. I'm presently engaged in moding it a bit. Got a reflash from Anthony, ordered a Madstad setup, installed a Stebel airhorn and am eying a Corbin seat. Coming off of several bikes, including an R12GS, a Wee-Stom, an ST-1300 and my present stablemate, a Triumph Tiger, I was surprised that I took to the bike. It was several hours on the bike of a member here that convinced me that this was a bike worth having. Looking forward to many thousands of miles.

About me, I'm a retired engineering and currently running a wrting business. Life is good.

Welcome from Texas. Did you get your stage name when you were riding the GS? (StArbucks) :D
Nah. You know, I was an unconventional BMW rider--I actually rode the thing. Long enough to realize that I wasn't a BMW rider for life. Great experience, great bikes, but terrible reliability at a high cost. I moved on.

I actually got the name from a British preacher. He referred to the local parish as "Saint Arbucks" and would say "You can find me there if I'm not in my office." He was never in his office. Hah!

Welcome aboard Jim!

Only 2500 miles?? That’s a new bike!

From The Netherlands,
Stefan
Yeah, I paid $8k for it. And they threw in new tires, an oil change, and a stem to stern inspection. A week later, Yamaha announced to discontinuation of the bike. So I felt fortunate.

The Netherlands, eh? Did some work there in the early 2000s. Me in a rental car, frantically paging through my Dutch to English dictionary. "What's the word for 'North?'"

That’s a good deal!
