Hi - my name is Geoff and although I'm British I now live retired in France .....surrounded by superb biking roads and very little traffic . Excellent. I'm a Lorenzo fan so I've just been very happy !
I have a 2011 Super Ten which came with some good mods namely lower winglets ; a Leo Vinci can (no longer in use as a bit too noisy for me- if anybody is interested ?) and a headlamp guard and engine casing guards. I've added a V Stream Screen and Madstad brackets
I'm 6 ft 6 " tall and a long upper body so short of a barn door there's no screen too tall ! I also have Bumot panniers - I was lucky enough to get some of the first quick-release versions for a very good price . They are excellent and huge and very high quality - recommended. Why Yamaha even offer the plastic boxes is beyond me - the older you get the more stuff you take with you on long tours - medication etc !!
I came to the Super Ten late via alot of other bikes Pan ST1100 excellent bike; GS Adventure (great but a replacement gearbox at 23,000 miles is not indicative of a quality product ) ; RT1200 - liked alot but panniers too small . In my younger days many others too - the one that stands out was a Honda Transalp 600 version - I called that my conscience bike - all I really needed rather than wanted .....
I tested the Super Ten against a Honda Crosstourer but the Yamaha won the test by quite a margin. I like being on a bike I know is good but Motorcycle Journalists seem to dislike
Tours this year involve Eiffel Mountains in Germany; Normandy battlefields and the Italian Lakes

I'd be pleased to hear from anybody over here in France
