Hi all
Yesterday I tried the Great Basin from Giant Loop. :clap
They look great, light but solid and well made, lots of space, inner bags to distribute the luggage.. Hope I can have a proper test in dirt next weekend.

Are they waterproof?

Mine was. I had 300 miles of this:

I was soaked(forgot to pack the rain gear!). The GB was dry as a bone inside.

I'd put some type of protection over the muffler cover however. Mine got some "sanding."

CL-850s are indeed great.

Yea. They look great but are kinda pricey. Hoping to try out the Nelson Rig CL 850 Touring for about $125.

With the CL-850s or for any other soft bag, I flipped the left passenger handle to the left to keep the right bag out of the tire.
The other handle was left at home.
Also make sure to cover the exhaust shield to protect the finish.

The soft bags are great for short trips, but for the summer I'm just finishing the install of some aluminum boxes.
