My experience with these was the opposite, I was installing the brackets/boxes. I am lucky enough to have an awesome dealership, Burleson Power Sports, that let me go up to their shop and use their tools to complete the install. I also had to use the same tools to install the locks in the bags. In my opinion, the most ignorant use of the tamper proof heads, are in the factory locks for the bags. Why are the fasteners, ON THE INSIDE of the boxes tamper proof?! You have to be in the box to access the screws. I don't imagine a thief would steal the locks, if he had already gained access to your goodies. I thought about buying a set for the house. But this is the only time that I have needed the tamper proof tools in 53 years.

I found a lone (no set purchase needed) T-50 Torx "security" bit at Lowes among their Cobalt brand tools. I think it was about $5.00?

I bought the whole set at Harbor Freight for about $10 on sale. You never know when you may need one. HF calls them E sockets.

It's just a T-50 torx security bit. It was included in the Harbor Freight set. Just like in the picture in this thread.

Thanks for the reply. I have one and it does not fit. The hole in the bit is too small for the pin and it is 5 sided.

Go to Harbor Freight's website and look at item #67930. I have a similar set , they have 6 points and the T-50 fits my bike. I just walked out to my garage to make sure. It's like maybe 8 degrees F here, but anything to help out a fellow S10 owner. I see you are from London. Does Harbor Freight have stores there? Good luck.

Did you buy the Torx or Security Torx (hole in the center)? You need the Security Torx.

Mine are standard Allen Hex head bolts. Yamaha doesn't use any security Torx stuff. At least in USA, maybe in England is different.

On my bike (US) the front ones are regular allen heads, but the back ones are T-50 security Torx. My Yamaha side cases were dealer installed before I bought the bike. Also, to fac191, there are some fasteners and tools out there that are 5 sided that look very similar. They must be used in some automotive applications. More tools to buy.
