I've been looking at some options for mounting a GPS above the dash. The mount I like best isn't available (Yamaha of France special no longer available) and thought about building one myself, but I'm reluctant to do so. Then I set my sights on the SW Motech piece. Now after reading through the description, it can't be used with the windshield wings. Argh. Any other suggestions besides going to a Madstad type of windshield mount.

It can be used with the wings and the sw motech unit is fantastic!

Solid, well made, vibration proof and just in the perfect location.

You,just have to bore out the front most holes by one drill size to accommodate the bolts. It's as easy as it sounds. I'll get some pictures tomorrow if you like?

Yep, it works fine. You just have to enlarge the front holes a little like he said.

That's some good news right there. I guess I'll get one on order tomorrow.

Thanks!

Wunderlich screen adjuster and mount, the locking part of a Touratech mount with the antivibe/vibe amplifirer removed braced to the screen mount with some boat bottle screws (turn buckles). The whole thing is rock solid if not pretty, everything remains adjustable.

Search the forum for a thread started by me called "Zumo 390 mounting + wiring". I used a tech mount (it's excellent) and an Eastern Beaver wiring harness to deliver keyed power to the GPS. It works flawlessly. I had a little "user error" doing the install (helps to reconnect both battery terminals) but highly recommend it. Dallara, another forum user, was super helpful too. BTW '13 Tenere too.
