Ordered on Saturday, received today. Wow, less than 4 days all the way from Spain! This is a slick little unit.

Had one on my 2012. Let us know if this improved model leaks water or not.

Nice little storage space. The last pic of Jef show the toolbox on the Gen 2 S10 with the side case on. Anybody knows if the toolbox interferes with the side case on the Gen 1 S10?

Since the Gen 1 and 2 use the same brackets and cases, I think this box will fit either gen. I was a little worried about interference with the right side cover on the ES under the seat but it turns out to clear easily. You have to make sure to mount behind the OEM bracket but in front of the spacer to avoid contact between the tool box and the side case when mounted. The only improvement I can think to suggest would be to make the brackets black to match the box.

Whoops, didn't see that ADV Motorad carried them. One of my STOC buddies brought my attention to this product and when I Googled it DS Bike Protection came up.

I love my toolbox. You can see some pics of it mounted in the link in my sig.

I know early models of these had leaks but mine is one of the "improved" versions which does not leak at all and I gave it a good testing in an epic rainstorm.

I get more questions from people about this when they look at my bike (with the panniers off) than anything. I think the rubber capped lock makes them think it's a 12V port or something.

I'll inspect the contents after the next rain ride or washing and report back. The fully welded construction, the full perimeter door seal, and the cap over the key lock would seem to be pretty weather tight. I did find it easier to access the lock just flipping the door upside down to get it down and away from the right directional signal.

As mentioned, mine did not leak. I also flipped my door as well. I think I posted about it in the larger thread on the toolbox

Thanks for the info. I think I have to get one. Both for storage and it'll help keep my softbags out of the rear tire!

Forgot to come back and report on the water tightness. I've been in a couple of rain storms and washed the bike a couple of times. Never even thought about water leaking in. Opened it the other day to retrieve one of the tools I keep in there and everything was bone dry, no evidence of a leak of any kind. My registration and insurance papers looked like they had been perfectly stored in a desk drawer.

People do seem to think that the covered key lock is an electrical socket of some kind. I was rather easily able to convince one of my coworkers (an engineer embarrassingly) that it was the battery pack for the plug-in hybrid drive system. He just nodded and said "cool", didn't question it at all!

That is funny. I have one of these and, now that you mention it, the lock cover does look like an electrical socket.
