Rode my new 2014 ES home today.
A short ~ 100 mile ride home from Champion Performance in Lake County Florida.
Love the feel, size, performance, heated grips for todays wind warning weather on the paved roads I used to get home. Bike moved in the wind but not as much as my DL650 does and the S10 Traction control works at oily toll both stops ...

Question(s)
1. Who sells mirror extenders / our wider mirrors for the 2014? (Currently have a great view of my arms)
2. At 6'3" want a better (larger) windscreen. Plan is for Yamaha Tall Screen but love the Givi Airflow or to listen to other tall riders on the 2014 ....

Much Thanks this forum group and the modulators for helping me close on the 2014 ES and pricing information to help me get a better deal in Florida.

congrats, Harry Dresden PI,
no advise on the mirror extenders, but the google is a helpful friend...
I would suggest the Givi Airflow over the Yamaha Tall Screen simply because of the extra adjustability, which works well on mine...
enjoy your ride.....

Go to Parabellum for the windscreen. It's not only taller (3 heights), but is wider.

I have the mirror extenders linked above and found them to be quality and perfect! They also solved the "see arms in mirrors" problem.

I also put the ebay mirror extenders on, and they helped a bunch. I ended going to the Double Take Mirrors (doubletakemirror.com) as I was not a fan of the diamond shape of the oem, and you can get different length ram ball arms to extend them too.
I am also 6-3 and when I first bought my bike the only windscreen option was the tall yamaha which I tried and felt it was not enough for me, (though I have one I would sell) and now I've add the Madstad bracket for the 2014 and a Cal Sci shield, and Yamaha winglet and am pretty well satisfied.
Congrats and enjoy!

I have the double-take on the DRZ and they are a little prone to vibration...how are they in this respect on the ST?

Personally I never have much luck with alternative screens & usually end up reverting to OE, so these days I rarely bother. Used a Madstad on my '05 KLV 1000, which worked well along with the OE screen blade.

With my 2014 S10 I have the screen set in the highest position. Then I have the clear plastic Winglets, which reduce up-draught & smooth out turbulence. It's perfect for me, at around 6ft 2in suited & booted. Even my pillion rider notices the improved airflow around us.

Whatever screen you decide to try, I recommend the Yamaha winglets strongly. They don't look wonderful, but do an excellent job.

Regards ................. KEN

Congrats on the new ride and yes, we are off on another windscreen post.
I like OEM tall but it is redesigned since 2012 so I would not be an expert here.
I say go with the OEM tall and enjoy the bike, I think the quest for the "perfect windscreen" is impossible.
Some thing's cannot be fixed.

Congratulations!! Excellent choice!

Just a 100 mile ride and you are ready to replace parts!!??? Hold on. Ride a few more hundred miles, keep making adjustments to the settings, and then you will be ready to make some informed decisions. You might even grow into sone of the ergos of the bike and not change some of the OEM accessories at all!!! Good luck!

I tried Yamaha's tall windscreen on the 2012 and did not care for it and ended up with a Powerbronze which was quite good when paired with a Madstad bracket. On the 2014 I have the tall windscreen from Yamaha and it does the job and looks quite good. I am 6'2" and use it at full height when spending a lot of time on the freeway.

Yes, that is the one downside. The first day or two I had them on it bugged me. I tightened the heck out of them and that reduced it some, and now I don't seem to notice it anymore.... maybe I just got used to a little more vibration. i prefer the round mirrors and extension and adjust/folding aspect.

I got mirror extenders from Lucky Bike http://www.luckybike.com/motorcycle-mirror-riser-extenders
You need 10mm, one left hand thread, one right hand thread. He also sells on ebay, sometimes as pairs, but still great price and quality. Zero issues in 80k miles with them coming loose.

On windscreens, there are a lot of options. Parabellum, CalSci, Givi, Cee Baileys, etc. What you need to tell us more than just your height is your inseam. Torso height is where the windscreen height comes into play. I'm 5,11", but only 31" inseam, so a little bit tall torso. I like some wind, so my helmet venting still works and have a CalSci Medium. Their chart says I should use a Tall, but I suspect that would give me next to no wind, and that's not my preference.

And +1 on the Yamaha side deflectors. Worth the cost, especially in the rain. I painted mine flat black, as sunlight reflection was bugging me.

Mirror Extenders off Amazon

Installed these on my 2014 S10 ES today.

http://www.amazon.com/Mirror-Extender-Adapter-Virago-V-Star/dp/B008TXQG6W/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1422977486&sr=8-7&keywords=10mm+Mirror+Riser+Extender+Adapter

note: clears all the controls on the ES. Left hand and Right hand threads. Left hand hex head bolt is Al and the Right hand hex head bolt is some from of steel. Slightly magnetic so may be work hardened Stainless.

Install takes 5 minutes but will likely have to re set up after I ride for a while to maximize the rear view.
