Got your attention didn't I

GORP , translation is " good old fashion raisins and peanuts "

Over the years I've carried some mix of dried fruit and nuts as a riding snack ... Currently I'm mixing dried cranberries , with roasted almonds and somethings cashews, sunflower seeds.

I like this in place of a candy as I think it's much better nourishment on the roads, washed down with plenty of water. Curious if other have heard of this idea and what concoctions you've come up with ?

Cheers

Certainly works, and with fresh fruit and water I find that the energy/stay awake release is longer term. Unlike chocolate, coffee, sugary sweets which give short term affects. Save the full on meal for the end of the day.

I just had a small bag of raisins and cashews for breakfast. Almost scary coincidence.

When time is available, I like to make nice sandwiches at home with some leftover meats and a nice bun, yogurt and ice cold drink.. put them in a cooler bag and find a nice lake somewhere and relax!

... StarKist Chunk Light Tuna in water in a 2.6 oz single serve package. (fork or spoon) (protien)
... Dill Pickles (like candy to me)
... Bottle of water (gotta stay hydrated)
... Apples, Banana's, Tangerines's (easy to eat and process)
... Mountain Dew and a Snickers (if I am draggin wagon and need a pick-me-up)
... Leftover's from a previous meal (cheap)

It is always relaxing to pullover to take a pause for a cause, stretch, make some travel notes, take a picture, return a call or two, maybe close my eyes for a few minutes, recharge, secure (check) any luggage, clean my visor and windshield.
