Clearly spoken by someone that hasn't owned a Triumph Explorer
No but owned a 1050 Tiger for 2.5 years and 47k happy as hell miles, owned an 98 900 Tiger a well.
I have taken the Explorer out for a two hour test ride she was quick, but to expensive for my blood.
The 800 was to small for my body size in my opinion but I did like how it handled.
Always had a tick for Triumph's, always will. they just don't seem to make it all the way to the top on anything they are building now.
Sort of sad really.

Could you elaborate a little more on that comment please?

I had several 1050 Triumphs, all good bikes. I think we are looking at The Decline of the British Motorcycle Industry round 2.

I had to sit and compare the fj, new versys and the super ten last month. I went with the tenere but would not have been unhappy with the fj. Really nice and it fit me well. But my son has an f700gs and I want to chase him around.

I was chatting to a feller on Sunday who had bought one and he reckoned it was his best ever bike. He chopped his GS1200 in for it and hasn't looked back. It's the ultimate all-rounder according to him and it looked very stealthy in the graphite grey colour.

I test rode a Tracer again the other day at my local Yamaha dealer. Even with the seat in the high position I found the foot pegs too high and back for my liking. Great motor though, can't wait till Yamaha puts it into an adv bike.
