Swum! Now that's a cool ride! What's your time frame?
I live about 20 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway mile marker 316. Let me know when you get close.

That'd be awesome!

I leave from the Philly-area on August 6th or 7th with Shenandoah National Park (via Skyline Dr) as my "goal." I do not yet have an end destination for that day picked. The next goal is Smoky Mountain National Park, so the destination will be somewhere along the route between the 2 & it will definitely include BRP.

For those looking to follow along, I'll probably be doing most of my posting to Instagram & Tumblr (Tumblr will mostly reproduce IG posts, but will also include longer posts) so that the family that isn't on the various motofora can keep up.

Whole lot to see and ride in Western NC and TN. Don't go too fast through there. Also your B to C, you're missing some stuff there I think. That's a fair distance with mucho to do.

Thanks for the input! I've actually done a decent amount of riding in/around the Dragon (I have family in Robbinsville). I am planning on hitting a bunch of stuff around there, as you can see from the below pseudo-screen caps:

That's the first leg of my trip. Unfortunately, my schedule isn't too flexible in terms of daily destinations because I need to make it to OKC on Friday since my friend is heading back overseas again on Sunday.

Here's a general idea in words of what y'all're looking at:

8/7 (Sunday): Leave DE, hit Shenandoah NP, camp just off the BRP near Lynchburg, VA.

8/8 (Monday): Spend the day on the BRP, camp on the BRP near Asheville, NC.

8/9 (Tuesday): Finish off the BRP, hit Great Smoky Mountains NP, play on the Dragon and surrounding roads, camp somewhere in Crossville, TN.

8/10 (Wednesday): Head to Mammoth Cave NP in KY, camp on the Black River in MO.

8/11 (Thursday): Meander towards Hot Springs NP in AR (where I'll be camping) via Ozark National Forest.

8/12 (Friday): head towards my friends' place near OKC.

Things I would love some input on:

1) The best way to get from DE to the north end of Skyline/the BRP in Front Royal, VA.

2) Potential alternate twisty routes that are near the BRP but, perhaps, aren't as well-traveled and with less law enforcement (read: more enjoyable speeds).

3) Interesting routes from Crossville, TN to Mammoth Cave NP and then to the Poplar Bluff, MO area (where the Black River is).

4) Fun roads from MO to Hot Springs, AR.

5) Most interesting route to OKC?

I'd say you have no idea how invaluable the stays are going to be, but you did design them, after all. ;) Thanks, Bryn!
