I just mounted up a GIVI XS308 tank bag on my Tenere and have noticed a considerable amount of movement between the plastic ring on the tank and the bag itself. I suppose if I was to only ride on pavement it would be no big issue but I expect this may become a problem off road. Is this normal? I contacted GIVI customer support and they really didn't seem to know. Any owners out there have any experience with a similar problem.

Don't worry. I have the same and taken it off-road and the connection is rock solid. I use the safety strap around the handlebars but mostly so I can let it hang to the side when refueling.

Thanks for the feedback. I was expecting the mount between the bag and ring to be solid, so that little bit of wobble had me concerned.
Always great to hear from the people that use the products in the real world. ::021::

Seeing as you have this bag I have a quick question for you. I have Helibars risers on my bike that move the bars back 1 1/4". Will this bag still fit with the bars moved back a bit?

This bag is fairly large and takes up most of the space available. I looked at the mounting base and I see that it can be adjusted forward or backwards but by only 3/8".
Not sure where you are in Alberta but I'm In Canmore if you want to check for fit. Perhaps there are some other members on here that have tried to do this modification. I think I did read something on here about this bag and risers interfering with the cruise control at full lock of the bars.

To follow up on this I got my bag in the other day. I mounted it in the furthest rearward position and the bars just touch the bag at full lock as expected with the Helibars risers. No issues riding at all. Nice bag, I am really happy with it.
