hi, if anyones interested heres a couple of mods ive done to my S10.
Since im a cheapskate and dont like paying OEM or touratech etc prices, i like to make my own kit where i can.
Firstly, i need a topbox but i liked the honda mount on my last bike, where a D shackle lock could store underneath. I took the top cover off the S10 luggage rack and made a carbon fibre plate that would stiffen the whole thing supporting the givi plate better, and also (using alloy standoffs on the existing fastening points) provide space underneath for the lock.

Some neoprene sponge padding and a securing band and it works very well. (The lock is a Sold Secure Abus)
The other mod is a carbon fibre mount for my tomtom, i hate those cheap and nasty C bolt RAM mounts that come with most bike satnavs, so i made my own

Im not 100% happy with it its a bit "agricultural" but strength was the main priority and its certainly that!
I may knock the sharp corners off it at a later date but im getting used to it. The mount is wired into an accessory BUS i put under the rh side panel, switched by the feed to the accessory socket (i dont like the possibility of leaving stuff switched on, and also if the terminals on the mount are always live they get a good fizz in the rain and corrode the terminals, as i experienced on a garmin once)
