Givi Skid Plate?

Does anybody here have the Givi Skid plate on their S10? I am looking to pick up a non-expensive, basic skid plate to help protect the oil pan/filter/etc. Most of my riding is on road, with some gravel mixed in. No serious off-roading.

I'd love to hear any opinions on the plate, including installation/removal (mainly, is it a pain to get off to change oil/filter?). I'd also appreciate any pictures on the bike. It looks like the plate only comes in unpainted aluminum. I like the look generally, but my luggage and crash bars are both black, so not sure how this piece will fit in with the rest of the bike.

Many thanks,
FT

I had their first generation one that physically looks a little different from what I remember, but it looks like it mounts the same. Easy enough to take off for oil and filter change. Once the main brackets are installed, it's just four bolts to remove the plate for maintenance. (Or, at least that's how mine was) Can't see them making it more difficult just because they changed the look of it. I liked the plate, and think it will provide the protection you seek, as long as you are not too aggressive off road. You can always paint it black if you don't like the aluminum look.

Thought that was SW-Motec. They had the red/black cow skull stickers all over everything. But yeah, the GIVI should work too. Paint it black to match.

I just installed this plate on my 12. There were a couple small issues with install. The front bracket that mounts to the front of the engine was too wide and required a few milimeters ground off with a bench grinder. The holes were not tapped very well and I just ran the bolts in a few times with WD40. Other than that, it was pretty simple, about an hour total. I was like you and thought the aluminum would look out of place but it looks good to me and you could always powdercoat it. It will need to be removed for oil changes, but it’s just 4 bolts, pretty easy. I am 95% road, so I mounted it to add highway pegs and it worked out well. IMG_4646.jpeg

In the pic above you can see the proximity of the OEM filter to the Givi bash plate, I don't think that issue is only with the Givi plate, probably other makes too, but I've been really happy with it.
However, you can see K&N filter there (I have been riding a long time and K&N have always been regarded as being good quality) and in order to be able to choose another filter when out in the back of beyond I cut a round hole to allow that 'nut' projection to come level, or just inside the bash plate.
I painted my bash plate black. Tomorrow, I'll try and get a photo of it in situ.

@Mallardmission nice positioning of pegs. What are they, make, model? Thanks.
I've been trying to get some to go onto my Givi crash bars, but actually those look like they may be in a better place.
If I don't find something similar, I'll have to create a post about pegs on Givi crash bars. My legs are short but the crash bars are a bit high to mount pegs, so I'll need something that drops down so my legs are low.
I'll post a pic of something a friend welded up for me, but they're not ideal.

these pegs are the rear OE pegs. I never have a passenger, so I repurposed them.
