I just installed the Givi shield last night and will try to get pictures by the weekend. It is 5" taller and 1"-2" wider than the OEM shield. Now I have clean smooth air flow over the top. I can ride with my shield open on my helmet with out it pushing down to close. I took a short ride and at 90 it still have smooth air and shield stayed up. The only thing I have noticed is I have an orange halo from the driving lights. But that you would have with the Cali shield also. I installed the shield in the highest setting and seems fine there, I am 6'1 with 32" inseam to give you a reference. The shield is also $35 less than the Cali shield. I bought it from Revzilla, it goes for $150 with Free shipping. Plus they give you Revzilla dollars to spend on your next order. ::026::

With shipping it is $50 less than the Calsci. Committed to a large Calsci but look forward to the pictures.

Thanks Martin for the thread, and Bloke for the pics. Bloke, what are your vital statistics?

I got mine last week and installed it for a ride this past weekend. I've got about 400 miles on it and it's a huge improvement over the stock shield. I think I am getting some back draft as the back of my jacket seems to be lifting at speed. I also added a top box (over the rear seat) at the same time so that could be affecting the wind as well.

I'm 6', 32" inseam and I have it mounted in the mid position (I think there are 3 or 4 positions it can be mounted in based on holes in the bike mount and the holes in the windshield. I'll be trying it with the Yamaha side deflectors next week.

I just did a 200 mile ride with it and had nice clean air on my helmet. My body was getting hit with more air. I think it was coming up over the fairings, I got the Yami wings on order and will be putting them on. I am 6'1 32" inseam. I have the shield mounted in the highest position.

+1 on the givi here as well. I just did 200 miles with the wife and we could actually hold a conversation without yelling, both had a great pocket. Likely the best bang for buck option to date....

I have to go back and review the specs, but I'm wondering why you picked that screen and not the Givi screen where you can slide it up and down.

I dunno Im just not gelling with it for some reason, it drags pegs more than i want it too and i wish it was smoother i know i change a bunch more stuff but at the end of the day its me, i think what i want out of my ride has changed a bit over the past three or four years and im looking at other bikes i wouldn't usually look at, i like to tinker with stuff and ride something you dont see so much i think,

maybe a valkyrie cafe racer is next ;D

I just put the Givi windscreen on a couple of days ago, works just fine for me, I can ride with my visor up no real turbulence with the seat in the high position. Very happy with it, funny though there was a warning sticker on it saying if its windy out don't exceed 100km/hr??? Thats like only shifting out of second gear :) and I did run it up to 160km/hr and it still worked just fine.

I'm 6'1" and 34" inseam. Anyone got feed back on what the Yamaha lower wind deflectors do?

Bloke, from your previous posts and some of your pics and history, you seem like a very experienced/seasoned rider so I imagine that would include bike setup knowledge..?
it looks like you have a good steady lick of speed going into this very smooth corner and have or are just approaching the apex. To my eyes it appears that the front suspension (at more than half travel gone) may be a bit soft.
As I recall you just had your fork's re-done by traxion and the new rear (assume correctly weighted) Ohlins? Are you comfortable that the springs are weighted correctly for you?
How tall/heavy are you? I have found HUGE benefit from the rear raising links on our bikes in terms of greater ground clearance, but more importantly, quicker/sharper steering response with the front feeling more weighted and direct.
I also found that having the new Ohlins rear sprung correctly for my weight has allowed me to increase the preload on the forks for a more balanced feel. This is obviously not ideal and I will be sourcing fork spring/oil weight upgrade asap.
I sincerely hope you can find your happy place with this bike and start to really enjoy what it has to offer.

Last BUT FAR FROM LEAST.... Tell me that is not the toe of your right boot visible beside the RHS of the front tire????

Greg.
