Givi Airflow

Hi all,
Recently bought a new Givi airflow screen here in the UK. It wouldn‘t fit my Gen 2 OE Yamaha bracket so I removed the bracket and mounted the Givi directly onto the mounting lugs for the bracket. Had to use thick rubber washers to lift it a little off the bracket so it wouldn’t touch at the bottom. Recently also acquired a Madstad bracket to mount the Givi to but it won’t fit that either for the same reason. The mounting holes on the Givi are not as wide as either of the brackets mounting holes. Looking around the forum it looks like other Givi airflows look different either with two black vertical tabs on the Givi mounting holes and also the right width for the Gen 2 bracket or the Gen 2 Madstad. Beginning to wonder whether I was sold the wrong Givi Airflow ?
Does anyone on here have the Givi mounted directly onto the OE Yamaha bracket OR the Gen 2 Madstad bracket ?
Both my short Yamaha screen and my tall Yamaha screen will fit the OE bracket (obviously) and also the Madstad but not the Givi screen. Solution is to drill the Givi but wanted to check before I got into that (or returned it if its the wrong one)
Thanks all.

I have the same givi as yours and fitted straight to the OEM original bracket, no issues whatsoever...

Thanks Strummer, mine doesn’t fit. Holes are off by over an inch either side. I must have the wrong screen. I’ve just checked my paperwork and the model I have is the AF447. Will contact the seller on Monday.

The plot thickens - Strummer I think your Givi D2119ST is a single piece screen whilst mine is a two piece. Could be wrong but it looks that way. Mine is specifically an “air flow” screen with a separated upper screen. To make it weirder my screen is listed as the correct one for a “Yamaha 2010-2019“ (see pic) Which is weird as the Gen 2”s are 2014 up as you know. On another site it’s listed as AF447G for 2014 up. Mine is AF447.
Another question I have is, is there a difference between the Givi air flow for the Gen 1 and Gen 2 bikes and is the mounting bracket different on either bike ? I’ve never seen a Gen 1 so can’t say.

Will definitely call seller tomorrow and solve this.

what i can see on the webb, is a D2119ST is just a tall standard screen not a airflow 2 piece, and i,ve heard by people on here that the gen 1 and gen 2 airflow are different

is the £129 for both pieces in that picture, i ask if yes it is, can,t see it being 2010-2019 as the lower sectiond are different on gen 1 and gen 2 the holes are further apart on one of them

Yes, the quoted price is for the two pieces. I paid £124.00 for mine. Mine shipped from Givi in a single box with two boxes inside. It’s very evident to me that with your confirmation that Gen 1 and Gen 2 are indeed different and I’ve probably received the lower piece for a Gen 1 bike, the upper section is probably the same for both bikes. As stated will call them tomorrow. Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated and shows the value of the forum!

I have a Givi AirFlow AF447 on my ZE. It was originally designed for the Gen 1. No AirFlows were made for the 2nd Generation

To make it fit a Gen 2 you have to:-

1 Remove all the adjustment bracketry, including the 'sat nav' bar

2 Put 2 small spaces at the bottom to pull the screen out. I use 2 black plastic number plate nuts

Obviously you will need longer bolts at the bottom

The black pieces of plastic covering the unused holes are not a Givi part. They are Yamaha original parts from a Gen 1

Hope this helps

Yes I am wrong.
Sorry mate I have misread your thread...
I thought you were after the GIVI windscreen...
Mine is just that and as Bimota said it's just wider and taller.
Sorry for the confusion I have created, sometimes English is not my friend.
My bad.

Mike, top post with all the relevant info. Thank you. This is in fact what I have done. Removed the OE bracket and used thick rubber 1/2” tap washers to “ space” the screen and used longer bolts. It fits on great. Great info on the black plastic pieces, will look for those pieces so it looks better (and spreads the load for the screws better). Ascertained today with the supplier that there is in fact no Givi air flow for the Gen 2, just as you say.
My next project is to make it fit a Madstad bracket I just purchased UNLESS I find that it works fine just as it is. I also want my GPS bar back hence the Madstad (and the Madstad gives some more adjustability. This will involve some drilling!
Thanks again

Strummer, always grateful for input. Thanks again for the post. I’ve solved the mounting problem, remains to see whether it works as well as people say.

I used this sat nav bracket, taken from my Gen 1. It has great adjustability

although you have to bend the bracket slightly so you can see the indicator warning lights when the sat nav is in fitted in the cradle

I also considered this:-

Never cheap personalising a bike is it?

Lol, i had already made a loooong list before I had even bought the bike, I’m on number 7 farkle off a list of 12! it’s incredible how we justify anything for a bike. Thanks for the tips on the brackets, will look at both. Will still try and install the Givi on the Madstad (since I have it ) which should be straightforward with new holes drilled in the screen. I better go and sharpen my drill bits or buy an acrylic bit. Will update the post when I’ve finished. Thanks again Mike.

I did exactly the same as MikeR too, but after an initial ride I added further spacers to the lower fixings to tip the whole lot back a little more, which improved airflow even more. Mines now spaced about 25mm from the mounting bracket. I also found the black trims SH on ebay after Fowlers failed to supply new ones.
