So after riding some other bikes the last couple of years, I'm missing the S10. I had a 2012 and a 2013 and now I'm looking at a 2016 ES. Aside from the extra electronics, are the ride and comfort level and seating position pretty much the same? I know , I know, go and ride one. Unfortunately they are few and far between at the dealers around me. Thanks

Seat to pegs is the same. Bars are slightly higher and closer and have a little less sweep. Otherwise, no differences ergonomically that I know of.

Yes, ergos are basically the same. The Gen II risers are anti-vibe and the whole bike is smoother than the Gen I. It seems like the clutch lever has lighter feel too. But it will feel like the same bike you had before. I moved from a '12 to a '15 recently. No regrets. Pretty much all the farkles you liked on your '12 will still be needed on the '16.

Can you expand on "what you missed"?

I only ask so that someone else might contemplate keeping their Tenere even when their yearnings wander. :)
If missing it later is defined, maybe folks will recognize the possibility.

I have a case of motorcycle A.D.D. In the last 5 years I went from Harley ---> Buell ---> Triumph ---> S10 number 1 ,back to triumph---> S10 number 2, then back to Harley. I keep going back to the S10 for the comfort, the fun factor. Having the ability to explore the back roads and still keep up in the twisties doesn't hurt either.

Ha! I guess that would mean I am currently in a monogamous relationship. I haven't even WANTED to another bike. ::025::

Picked her up yesterday. First impressions, I felt at home just like the last 2. And holy crap there's a lot of buttons on the ES. I didn't get an owners manual so I'll work on figuring out what does what today.

Find and meet up with somebody that has an ES. You'll go crazy trying to figure it out otherwise. I love my ES, but damn....

Down load an electronic OM to your phone!

It can be confusing because certain menu options are available when the bike is running, and in neutral. If you just switch on the key, you won't get everything
