The local inmate named eemsreno has been to Alaska multiple times. (He's crazy)

There are several Ride Reports of his for you to enjoy too.
(the latest trip is http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/three-of-tbdbitw-ride-to-alsaka.1087923/ )

He would be a better source for answering your questions with specificity, but you should be encouraged by knowing his Tenere is a 2012 and has more than 120,000 miles on it.
I do NOT think he has ever had a stator issue. In fact, that would be considered a rarity on the Tenere.

Hopefully he'll chime in here shortly.

I read most posts and can only think of one person. His died slowly when the bike had more than 120,000 miles on it.

Not something to worry about.

My stator still looks great at 108k and I run heated gear, grips and aux lights, sometimes all at once. I did have my CCT fail at 82k, a couple of days after getting back from Alaska. I would suggest you update the CCT to the current version before your trip. There have been failures below 50k miles, but most are later. Yamaha's informal suggestion is to replace it at or before the second valve check/adjustment. After that, toss a fresh set of tires on and lock the garage door on your way out. Have a great time!

The cam chain tensioner thing is an audible chatter/clatter for the first few seconds after start. It kinda hurts to hear it. It has lead to catastrophic engine failure a couple times, maybe three? that have posted here. Many many more bikes have never had a problem than have, a few have preemptively replaced their tensioner with the superseded '14+ part number, and a few more have gone with a mechanical adjuster, like the R1 adjuster from Graves, or even the cheapy Ebay model. You'll know the noise if you have it. If not, enjoy. ::26::

Never under estimate your battery's condition. If it were over 3 years old, and I was planning a long trip, they are cheap enough, I'd replace mine.
