Gen2 odd question

Does anyone in the Charlotte NC/upstate SC area know of a dealer that will allow a test ride on a Gen2 bike? I looked up the Yamaha demo days and nothing with a Super Tenere is being held anywhere close to me...unless I missed something. I had a 2013 and sold it, with mild regret now. I want a 2014+ this time and want to test ride for comparison of the Gen1.

If you live in the Charlotte area and own a 2014+ and want to meet up to ride and possibly do a quick parking lot or country road bike swap/ride let me know. I ride both a Triumph Tiger 800XC and a 2015 Harley StreetGlide, so whichever you would want to ride I could bring for the swap. I know this is an odd request, but it seems dealers do not have a demo that would help a buyer make the decision to buy. I did this before for a guy who wanted to ride a Harley so maybe karma will come my way.

Thanks for any info.

I was checking out the Bikes in Matthews Fun Machines Saturday when one of the sales people said they have a 2017 available for test rides.

Last I was there they had a blue 2012 and brand new yellow 2016 that was NOT for test rides. I'll check it out. Their prices are kinda on the high side in comparison to the tri state area.

The blue 2012 is still there along with two 2017's that aren't for test rides either. The sales guy says they have an ES that can be scheduled for a test ride. I didn't actually see the ES, so you might call before you visit.

I have a 2014 ES that you can take out for a spin...if you are willing to come up to Chesapeake Va. Other than that, I may be in the Blowing Rock area mid/late April. We could arrange something then.

I ride through Blowing Rock on one of my day routes when I head to mtns. Let me know, that would be very cool.

I'm in the Raleigh/Cary area. Welcome to take mine out and about if you get up this way.

I had a Gen 1 and hit a deer with it. I bought a Gen 2 to replace it. If you liked your old bike you will love the new ones. The bike has not taken any steps backwards in build quality or performance. All changes are positives.

Would I buy a Gen 1 again.....likely not.

Yep read all the threads out there on the differences. Thought I’d like a Triumph Tiger 800XC better....not so much. Lol.
