Question is kinda right there. I have most cables plugged in but display was crushed when bike was totaled. I want to start this thing. I cleaned out tank without the float going back in.
The tilt sensor is in the up position. All kick stands up
in nuetral.
Not seeing/hearing fuel pump run.
Sprayed a little carb cleaner in the TB's
Not a hint of combustion.....
Without a schematic specifically for gen1 I am struggling.
Like a caveman I just want fire.
If I find a schematic I am going to jumper out everything.
Seller assured me he started it without the display. Engine oil was clear and clean it cranks well and no clacks.

Any ideas? got a spare display("Meter") ??

I have an obd cable coming tomorrow but not sure if that will help.

your right but this is a bike that was cannibalized so I am not sure which input / relay / connection may be missing I found a pdf for 2010 and am looking through circuits but it would be nice to have a cad printer so I can print one I can trace and see. 36x48 lol. I test my other one that is complete and pump runs like you say either way but requires all the things you speak of. There is no clutch switch or lever assembly so maybe it is a supervisory type circuit. Doing a quick on the "meter it looks like it just reports status and doesnt send anything.

Yeah, there's no CAN bus so all sensor/switch inputs should be simple binary open/closed. Good luck!

Do you have the kill switch hooked up? The fuel pump doesn't run if the kill switch is in the "don't run" position. I think that also shorts the coils to inhibit any spark. Although it should also inhibit the starter, unless some connections are missing.

Well Team Tenere. We did it. It runs well. No smoke odd noises

Red light JR is Salvage1. The cannibal donor isSalvage2

the problem was me. I figured Out while chasing wires I wasn’t hitting the start button. It oddly I saw pump run and heard those little squeaks and beeps. Motor(engine for most of us) really sounds good.
I think I’ll part this one out

To clarify I’m used to the 3 pos gen2 starter. When I saw that button all by its lonesome I got the brilliant idea to push it…..
