i tried to search this thread and i didnt get to iti,m sure i read a thread on here awhile back that somebody fitted a gen 2 abs pump to a gen 1 bike few years back now
somebody else may remember that to
rob
im facing a electrical problem with my module the electric unit is bad no communication with diagnosis with it and no speedo... that why i need to change it and i found only gen1 abs that why i want to be sure if it will fitted or noDo you know that the Gen 1 abs module does not have the same problem that you have in your module?
I don't remember having read a problem similar to yours... so it would be strange if you were the first...im facing a electrical problem with my module the electric unit is bad no communication with diagnosis with it and no speedo... that why i need to change it and i found only gen1 abs that why i want to be sure if it will fitted or no
What fault number appears on the bike dashboard?yes cuz i didnt find gen2 abs i found only gen1 abs and its used ... about buying new is too expensive ... that why im asking if it will fitt to my 2015 xt gen2 or no ... and about fuses i checked all is good i've no communication with the module in diagnostics ... no speedo no nothing
thank u manHere is the old thread. That poster successfully used a 2017 abs in a 2011.
Oops wrong url. Be back in a minute...
042 like rear abs sensor but same fault even with abs plug plugged or not still only 042 and i try to cycle abs by jumping two wires.... no respond so abs is deadWhat fault number appears on the bike dashboard?
yes i scaned the bike with yamaha diagnostic and no communication with abs moduleIf you only used the dashboard buttons to read the fault codes...maybe you should scan the bike using Yamaha software ..before considering the ABS module dead...the fault you have is strange and as I said before, you must be the first to have it…
Burned, it shouldn't be (you said that the fuses of the abs motor and the abs ecu were fine)...a communication problem, in a digital network is not always due to the module. Wiring from the abs module to the ecu could cause a communication failure…. "probably", since there is no communication between the abs and the ecu, "maybe" you cannot (as you said), cycle the abs pump. You didn't comment regarding the abs light on the dashboard, does it stay on?...yes i scaned the bike with yamaha diagnostic and no communication with abs module
thank u for ur interest but about wiring i test all canles one by one there is 4 if i remember wired to the engine control module all cables are fine i checked can wires all fine and about abs light is still solid on dash if there is wiring isue i thi k just when u jump the two wires its should blink ... i test the two wire linked to abs too is fine ... the bike was sitting for 4 years and have a battery flat ... i think the sw inside abs module was corrupted ... that why same fault code even its plugged or unplugged nothing changed only 042 fault cuz ecm doesnt receive wheel pulse signal from abs ...Burned, it shouldn't be (you said that the fuses of the abs motor and the abs ecu were fine)...a communication problem, in a digital network is not always due to the module. Surely you just want to change the module and that's it, put an end to the problem... but since it is a very rare failure, you have to rule out that the problem is not somewhere else. side (as in wiring or the abs module plug)…
Not receiving the pulse signal is a “critical” failure for the ABS… it is the most important “input” information that the ABS has to do its job. For this information, the ABS uses the pulse sensor and the “pulse emitter”. (the tone wheel inside the wheel)...Actually, I think there is communication...(if a code 042 appears) and the abs light is on permanently...the abs is communicating...I'm not sure if abs ecu can be accessed (I think you can only “read” what the ABS ECU sends to the motorcycle ECU… read codes). and probably in the event of a critical error such as the reading of pulses, the abs system is simply isolated from the rest, until its system is complete again...without pulse reading, the system is not operationalthank u for ur interest but about wiring i test all canles one by one there is 4 if i remember wired to the engine control module all cables are fine i checked can wires all fine and about abs light is still solid on dash if there is wiring isue i thi k just when u jump the two wires its should blink ... i test the two wire linked to abs too is fine ... the bike was sitting for 4 years and have a battery flat ... i think the sw inside abs module was corrupted ... that why same fault code even its plugged or unplugged nothing changed only 042 fault cuz ecm doesnt receive wheel pulse signal from abs ...
