I will wait patiently....

I'm ::002:: here, but the fz would fit the bill nicely for me.
Having sold off my various attempts at commuter bikes (slightly modded cbr ::015:: http://thetenerist.wordpress.com/2013/04/14/cbr-rrrrrrrrrrr-build/) and my 01 vfr, the fz would be light, fun and cheap enough to do the job very nicely.
Granted, Yamaha may come out with a lighter Tenere, but truth be told, I love the current bike, it can haul ass on gravel all day, and then hop on the highway and continue at 90 mph without issue.

Another view, have to wait for some more sunny weather for more!
Hey John, Looks good can't wait to see it on person. The small tank is a killer for my type of riding. I know it's new but what are you getting out of a tank? Terry

Terry, 110 -125 mile before reserve, high 30's mpg. I can't avoid twisting the loud handle! The range hasn't been an issue for me as I'm ready for a stretch and to catch my breath by that point. For any thing longer than 175 or so the Tenere gets the nod.

I'd already have one since I was the first deposit down at my dealer but my foot injury turned in to three surgeries and four months off work. I don't finance anything so I will be on the back burner until I pay cash. Lost $800 a month between my normal job and being on light duty. Just not going in to debt for anything.

I like the no payment thing myself. Not everyone can swing a new bike without it, but sticking to it for "stablemates" and tertiary toys is good fiscal discipline.

Hope you're doing better. Broke a tooth Tuesday night, tomorrow they make my head into an echo chamber.....
No fun not being 35 anymore.

Heal quickly Firefight.
read that compare, the fz did well.
I'm old school. Unless it's a house, it needs to be bought for cash.
I have a very good relationship with my dealer in Montana. Called him today, and asked him what he wants for a deposit. He simply told me that he will call me when the bike comes in, and we can talk about a deposit then. My name is on it.

I'm setting money aside as it comes in, hopefully get to pick it up before winter.

Phil, I was just thinking about you the other day. I remembered that you'd ordered an FZ09 and wondered why we hadn't had a report from you yet. I didn't realise your foot was taking so long to heal. Old blokes and marathons don't mix! I trained for one in 2010 but had a knee injury in the lead-up, started the race but only go 16 miles before it got too painful. Sounds like I got off lightly! Hope you heal soon, and get on the new bike to celebrate! (oh that's right it's Jamies bike! Nothing wrong with her foot is there ;-)

I regret watching that. I watched every second of it. I hate that bike. I will NEVER ride that bike. I'm not the least bit interested in that bike.
Boring.

Wonder if my dealer has one?

I'll risk it and buy it without a test drive. Will report back. :)

I guarantee you it will be nowhere as entertaining as the one posted..
That was something else, wasn't it?
He ends up saying he wouldn't buy it, after selling one to almost everyone who watches it.

My 950SM can make me feel that way. Talking to myself in my helmet. Laughing. Watching for the police around every corner.
But somehow this FZ seems even better. Yamaha version of pure unadulterated FUN.

The guy is a beginner, and scares himself a few times on the bike. Not scaring me away.
