No fair if you're carrying spare fuel. This isn't my personal best, but I just thought of doing this thread on my way to the pump.

I only put in 5.6 gallons, so it wasn't really close to walking levels. I also don't do this very often, but sometimes it's nice to know I can go 30+ on F trip.
Next time you push the envelope, post a picture. :D

I actually ran out of gas once. I went about 40 miles on reserve. Didn't take a picture though.

Each bike is slightly different, due to minor variations in the float arm. My reserve was around 1.6 gallons when I first got the bike. I got 62 miles on reserve once with it like that. When I installed the aux fuel set up, I had to pull the fuel pump out, so I used the opportunity to tweak the float arm a little so my reserve is now close to 1 gallon. I call that 40 miles for some safety zone, on E10.

For the purposes of your thread, (fun idea, btw), people should specify if they are using E10 or normal gas w/o alcohol.

FWIW, aux fuel makes no difference in the distance of the reserve counter. You just have more fuel before you get to reserve.

That is a good idea. On that tank I don't remember for sure, it was most likely not ethanol. That's what I run by choice.

What I meant by "spare fuel" wasn't auxiliary tanks, it was a can to save you if you ran out. That eliminates the gamble.
