Looking for wheel spacers (collars) for the front wheel of a 2013 Yamaha Super Tenere. I somehow misplaced one while doing some maintenance. Boats.net happily took my money and said they would ship on Thursday. Email they sent last night says they are delayed till the 29th. Anyone have a more reliable source? I assume all/most of the internet sites work the same way and won't have them?
Salvage yard? I searched with no luck.

I would call a local dealer and they can tell you if they're on backorder or just shipping from the East coast or West coast. If boats.net is shipping from Florida and the parts are in CA. they have to be shipped from CA to FL and then to you. Local dealer should be able to get oem parts in 2-3 days. Is boats.net even a Yamaha dealer or just a reseller?

Closest dealer is 60+ miles away. Don't guess that really matters, but I don't have any past dealings with them. If nothing pans out here, that'll be my next step.

Boats.net looks like all the other online ordering sites, partzilla, partsshark, etc etc.
I'm not completely clear on how that business model works but thought they had the same access as a dealer.

Hit up the ebay sellers that have front axles for sale. Message them asking about the parts you want, they have bikes, just might not have those parts listed yet.

If the parts have to be shipped from CA. to a dealer in FL., then they get sent over to Boats, then boxed up and shipped from FL. to you, it could take a few weeks. All this travels by ground unless otherwise specified. If the spacers aren't on backorder the dealer should have them in 2-3 days. A couple hours of driving or overnight in the mail would beat waiting several weeks.

It looks like those spacers are unique to our bike and not shared by other models. You might try calling Yamaha dealers, asking if they physically have the part, and if so then having them overnight ($$) by Fed/Ups.

According to Liz at boats.net, there are none in the US. There are a few in Japan.

Started calling dealers, one dealer said he could see that another dealer had one of one side. Called that dealer, no dice.

I've got several messages out to ebay sellers as Eric suggested, but I'm not very hopeful.

Was the spacer way cheaper from the boat place ? I've ordered parts from my local Yamaha dealer that showed as backordered but they showed up at dealer 3 days later. Good luck !

Give Greens Cycle Salvage (270) 879-8979 a call. I'm pretty sure they are hooked into a nation wide salvage yard system that will show them if there are any crashed S10's at other salvage yards.

If it is the spacer that goes between the bearings inside the hub, you may be SOL for a while. I had a rear wheel bearing failure on a ride last summer. It damaged the bearing spacer. NOT AVAILABLE. Thankfully the dealer had a new Super Tenere on the floor and Y.E.S authorized cannibalization.

Call Yamaha customer service and see if they can goose something, after you place an order with a regular dealer. That will be the best way to work the system. Or get dimensions and have one made. It's just an aluminum tube cut to a specific length.

Good luck!

Which spacer? :)

Maybe I can pull mine and get dimensions on it and you can have one machined up in a jiffy.
I'm not saying it's the cheapest path, but when you gotta ride you gotta ride.

So good news. Turns out the spacer on the left side has an oring that holds it in the plate for the ABS sensor. I looked under that piece as it sat on the lift, I just never looked AT that piece.
I'm a little embarrassed that I had never noticed that when changing tires.

Thanks for all the advice and offers to help. Sorry for the brain fart.

Been there, done that! I lost both rear wheel spacers for my 86 FJ1200 when getting a new tire mounted. None in the country, waited over a month, nothing came from Japan. It was the dead of winter and a friend offered to take his apart so I could take them to a machine shop to get duplicated. I had 2 sets made, I wanted spares!

Don't feel bad. Several years ago I took my Triumph Daytona 1200 to a track day. the morning was great, super fun. Ran through a whole tank of gas and most of a rear tire, was having a ball. Had lunch break, and after I went back out, the bike wasn't running well. It was missing under acceleration, and in general, felt sick...seemed like intermittent spark issue to me. Well, we pulled the plugs, checked the coils, etc. etc. and couldn't figure out what the deal was. So, I parked it for the day. I had other bikes to ride so there wasn't huge urgency to fix it, but I loved that bike, so I didn't ignore it. Several troubleshooting sessions at a friend's place were not fruitful, and gradually, our efforts became more sporadic. Fast-forward a year, and I had moved to Louisville KY from Durham NC, and 14 months or so had passed without riding my fave.

One beautiful Saturday morning, I decided that this was the day that the bike would be fixed. I parked it front-and-center in the service bay space in my garage, stripped off the bodywork, and set to work. I started from the beginning, and worked through system after system. test, go for a ride, not fixed, return, repeat. On the third ride out, I ran out of gas as I rode up my driveway (lucky). I jumped in the van, filled a gas can, returned, and topped up the Daytona. As I was pouring in the gas, an idea started to form. Had I ever checked to see if I'd gotten bad gas at the track over a year before? Was this the same gas? After thinking for a minute I realized that it was. It was ethanol-free and had stabilizer in it, but it was the same gas the whole time. I knew it before I got back on to head out...

Yep, the problem the entire time was a tankful of bad gas. The bike sang like an angel as soon I gave it the berries pulling out of my driveway. My favorite bike, sidelined for over a year and all because I'm too dumb to start with the easiest possible explanation for an issue. At the track...all good...now not. What changed? The gas. Drain it. Fixed.

Shoulda been 14 minutes, not 14 months :)

Still regret parting ways with my 95 Daytona 1200 which I bought new. Pro Italia billet adjustable clip-ons, Micron dual exhaust, Triumph / Alcon 6 pot racing front brake setup, fully redone suspension, etc, etc. I rode it at Grattan and Mid-Ohio on a few occasions, not tearing it up, just having a good fun day with it. I rode that bike everywhere, including my first 2 lane trip from Michigan down to TWO in Suches, GA, when Frank was still running the place. Lot of great adventures and memories with that bike.
