Anyone with an opinion which is the best front tyre for this bike?
I got a rear K60 Heidenau at the moment, any suggestion for a good combo?
I do not need any more handlebar vibes due to different front pattern vs stock Tourance, been looking at TKC80 thread since I tend to ride on dirt roads a fair bit.
Cheers!

Tough question. I've run a bunch of K60s as sets. Somewhere between the K60 and the TKC-80 in terms of vibes and grip/longevity is the Kenda Big Block. I have one of those in the garage that I'd not hesitate to run with the K60 rear, but I'm not sure it fits your no vibes issue. The rear is pretty chunky, especially at slow speeds! But boy does it dig in nicely in the loose stuff.

You might look at the Heidenau K76 as a potential alternative. Other than that, you'd be looking at more 80/20 tires that may not match up well with the K60 in terms of grip off pavement.

Yes it is a tricky question since we all are different but I`m happy for a general guide. I`m surprised where you can go with this bike even with the stock tires, imagine with great front and rear ones....

I have the Mitas E-07 and I like it better than the K-60. The front is about the same as the K-60, but the traction on the rear is much better. The only place they are available is from MX1 web site.

I though the traction with the Heidenaus was good... I got the Heidenau rear mainly due to a mate of mine was not too impressed with the Mitas, next time maybe Mitas and they are way cheaper here as well :)

why was he not impressed?
I wasn't too impressed with the rear heidenau that was out of round, right from the factory.
It's not as good on gravel as the mitas (50/50's) or as good in the rain.

Maybe he did not like the Mitas due to longevity but to be fair he does not have a ST but a GSA so maybe handling differ a bit.
I`m so far quite pleased with my tyre choice at the rear just need a great front tyre to go with it. No rush, still got plenty of thread on my front tyre which only got 14000 km`s (8750 miles) on it.

Whatever you do, don"t put a smooth tire on the front and a knobby on the rear. The other way around is good though.
