Front Tire Install Help

Okay, so I have taken the front tire off to put in a tire sensor and as usual, things fall out before I see exactly how they were attached. I do have a repair manual but I've seen better instructions in other manuals and I don't want to "force" anything back into place.

What I think the problem is the speed sensor ring, I think it might snap on further (into) the wheel but I'm not 100% certain. I have attached a link that shows a photo of it and you can see where one end of the ring has a 'cut out tab' and I think this goes over one of the tabs on the wheel. However, when I do this, the speed sensor ring will spin WITH the wheel and then it will rip the sensor cord right off the ring. I'm thinking I need to snap the sensor ring down into the wheel but I don't want to force it if I'm wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I should drink when I'm doing this stuff, I'd probably be better off; I just realized that I had the rim turned around the wrong way and now the sensor in the right location.

I believe that falls under the "Shit Happens" clause of motorcycle ownership. ::010::

I am capable of some of my best work in the evening after I have a great martini prepared by my wife...................who also totally supports my life long motorcycle habit/passion.

WARNING..........this message written under the influence of a dirty Smirnoff vodka martini. YMMV
