Front seat rubbing on tank

Hello,

I noticed after less than 5000km that my EOM seat (on high position) does rub into the tank and start to take the paint off.
Did it happen with anybody else or I did something wrong? When installed it looks and feel on the right spot..

Thanks

That happens to a lot of bikes. Your best bet is to polish that up and then get some clear vinyl wrap and apply a layer to the tank where the seat makes contact.

Yep, happens to a lot of bikes, I take a piece of really good packing tape, the thick clear kind, and fit it right where the seat contacts the tank. Has worked for years on several bikes. Cheap too.

Most auto part stores should carry clear paint protection film that is perfect for something like that.

I use clear hockey tape for many chaffing situations like that. Aircraft have numerous points like that with lots of vibration so I use it there. I replace it every year or two.

If you lower the rear seat bumpers like many of us have it will pull the front seat edge away from the tank. ::008::

Seat pad ("bumper") part number 22W-24741-00-00. I think they were around $2 each if I remember.

Nice gap between the seat & tank - no scratches.

Thanks everyone.
I will use both suggestion. Starting with the clear film/tape until the seat pad (bumper) is delivered.
It turns out that I was planning to change the seat inclination as well, so here is a good excuse for that.

I have installed the lower bumpers on the rear of my seat, but I've just noticed that it has still rubbed the tank. I'll put some 3M wrap on now.
