The Front Grill I have been working on is ready to sell for those of you who are interested.

PRICE & SHIPPING:

$275.00, includes: Grill, SS mounting hardware, anti-seize, epoxy, installation instructions, shipping anywhere in the continental US.

The kits are posted on Ebay to make payment easy. Here is a link:
http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=121357587108

Note that it can take up to 1 week to get the item printed and shipped.

MATERIAL:

Like I mentioned before, this is a 3D printed part, made with Black, ABS-Polycarbonate material. The material is strong, but I am not going to guarantee the durability of the product. I can tell you that I accidently dropped the grill from 4 ft. off the concrete, and I dropped a screwdriver on the grill. Both times nothing cracked or broke. If anyone is interested in a stronger material, I can get a quote on Nylon as well, but it will be more expensive, PM me.

LAYOUT:

There are two indentations on the top/back side of the frame to clear the headlight bezel. The unit mounts with 3 tabs that have thru holes sized for a 6mm screw. The top right mounting point is too close to the front frame to install a screw, so there is a stud printed off the side of the part for support.

INSTALLATION:

I recommend installing the unit by attaching the screws into the front side panels with epoxy. I will post install instructions soon.

Curious... And I'm serious in asking this... Is the price really $275? ???

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Yea, unfortunately it is not cheap to rapid prototype parts like this. There are some really cheap ways to 3D print but the parts wouldn't hold up. This is the way Victory, Polaris... all the big names prototype now.

If I had that 2014 plastic cover printed that you bought for $17, it would cost me $150. It takes the machine 4 hrs to print this grill. Time is where a lot of the cost is.

There is a little better pricing at 5 pcs. $225 for everything. I would want to work something out with 5 ppl first before I bought that many though.

If someone wanted to source hardware and epoxy on their own I could take $10 off for that as well. I could also get rid of free shipping and do that to the actual cost to save a few bucks. I was just trying to make it easy.

I hope this helps explain things a little bit. Please let me know if there are other questions.

Saw a story on just this thing. A few trade marked things are obviously going to get 'copied' with this tech, but it will never even make even a small dent in the over all picture because it's so expensive and time consuming to make copies... for now.

200 plus dollars for a cover up ? a few dollars difference and you can have a useful set of lights in there, sorry but if it did something others then cover up it may be worth it , imo

+1
Usually I won't criticize anything in the vendor's section and I'd love to have a 3D printer to play with. Yours does look great.

But at $275???

I've seen similar grills made for nothing from scrap car grills and others from hardware store materials.

Sorry
