Good find Wyo. So what is Yamaha going to pay you for finding the fix for their error ;)

Thanks Tomato. ::003::

Unfortunately not a damn thing I went in several times to dealer to see if there was service bulletins and showed them video I captured of ear piercing whistle and all I got was Hmmm.....insert sarcasm "sucks to be you more or less" ::009:: ohh well didn't keep me from riding as more serious issue could have and it's no longer an issue.

Good job on tracking it down. ::008:: I installed a oem headlight guard on the day I brought the bike home. I wouldn't have noticed if my '12 ever had that whistle. Some good things come from having to wait for your bike! Farkles are already on hand when it shows up. :D

I got the whistle and have been reaching around while riding to try and find it.
Question is how to fix it now that you have found it.
sealant, foam tape or something to seal it off?
I'd like to kill it, if possible.

Stated what was used above in post with pics. 3/8 wide X 1/4 Thick sticky backed weatherstrip, got at ace hardware. Applied to area stated in second pic, easy Peasy 15 min fix. Mine is a 2015 model so may vary for older models if its even an issue on earlier models. 1-Remove 4 windshield fasteners and remove windscreen 2-next remove top piece directly under windshield with Yamaha insignia on it just pull on top edge to release pegs that push into rubber grommet at top edge. Under that piece is a cheesy 1/4 turn plastic screw fastner that need to apply little pressure to while turning to release (*again its cheesy plastic screw little to no pressure while turning*)and there are 2 phillips fastners on the right and left side of that piece also and remove that plastic fill panel. 3-remove the 4 allen (6mm i believe) on the headlamp surroung panel and remove to access area wear foam weather strip or something equivilant can be applied. Hope this is easy to follow and makes sense. Again this is on 2015 model and not really sure there are complaints on 2014 and older models.

Thanks for the instructions and photos Wyo. Looks like the 2014+ Gen2 Tenere's have the whistle. I am surprised there has not been a concern before this. Like you I have a 2015. Wonder why the 2014 riders have not mentioned the whistle.
