Ok, i am about to remove my OEM engine guards (which are for sale $250) and gonna installed the altrider's in its place but..... ::002:: just under the headlights and above the front tire there is a huge gap and i can't recall it there was some type of mount or bracket that you can install to act as a front end guard or engine protector. I saw something but i just can't recall where and what it was. Maybe it was some type of fog light mount but if you guys know of something to fill that space let me know. thanks ::006::

Yes there is cover that you can buy. It is from 2014 ST. It is like $14-$15 bucks.

The panel's number is 2BS-28365-00

You will also need 2 x M6 x 25mm bolts and 2 x M6 flange nuts

I used the Yamaha bolts (95817-06025-00) as they have a black finish and blend in, and secured them with 2 stainless M6 flange nyloc nuts I purchased off ebay (cheaper than the what Yamaha want for a couple of nuts).

This was my answer to minding the gap. I had also replaced the OEM horn with two others.

Or both, the '14 cover + extra lighting, in this case the hardware that comes with the lights hold everything.

If you mount lights under the headlight be sure to measure the distance from the top of the fender to the bottom of the new lights and compare that to the fork travel.

Did you guys order all the hardware to attach it as well? or just come up with a couple bolts on your own?

I have drawers full of misc. sized metric fasteners so I used what was handy. I wasn't about to spend what Yamaha wanted for fasteners hidden from view.

So this looks like it fits under the OEM PIAA lights and mounts with no problems or modifications on a 13?

To find out, put a weight (good use for a kid or spouse ;) ) on the rear seat to unload the front fork.
Measure up 7.5" from the top of the fender.
Don't forget to do it again at full turn each way.

The 7.5" is how far your suspension can compress from full extension
