Went to my local Stealer for stock Yamaha front Brake Pads. $70. I can live with that. Hey, he says for one side only. What! No shite. I can buy brake pads for all 4 sides of my Kia for less than that. Went on line. About $120. for a set. Still crazy. I always had good luck with stock brake pads on all my other bikes over the years so got hung up on OEM. EBC are about $90. here. Are they any good? Will they last as long? Talk about Sticker Shock! :'(

Find another dealer, or another source for your OEM Yamaha pads... That dealer is trying to knock your head off. I paid about $40 US per caliper for Yamaha OEM pads from my dealer (about $120 to replace both front and rear pad sets at 16,500 miles, and there was a lot more pad material left).

Part numbers are as follows if you want to shop around on the 'net for 'em:

Front Yamaha brake pads: 2C0-25805-00-00 (per caliper)
Rear Yamaha brake pads: 3D8-W0046-00-00

These are the latest Yamaha part numbers. You can also look 'em up using the older, original part numbers...

Front: 2C0-W0045-00
Rear: 1D7-W0046-00

Good luck!

Dallara

I did not pay what you are quoting and probably more than Dallara. I get 20% discount and sometimes more but I have known the parts manager for 40 years and I bought my Tenere at this dealership. Always ask for a discount.

21k and mine still look good, 8) on my 3rd rears though
Have you flushed your rear caliper. I had the opposite problem and the dealership flushed the caliper and it started working well.

While on a trip I heard some squealing so I purchased all the pads. Pulled the pads and they looked good. still have not replaced them at 27,000 miles but I carry them with me when traveling.

Just to be safe, I need to flush all the calipers again.

Front and rear on mine both look no more than 50% worn at 6k, 3500 miles to / around and back from the Alps may change all that though, them roads are very hard on brakes.

Thanks Dallara. I'll check around. Anybody else running EBCs?
I have EBC HH on the rear. They were getting pretty thin at around 15K. The fronts still look great. Will be using EBC HH on the front when the time comes. I have had good luck with them on several other bikes.

I am not surprised. The cost 300$ here. I also import them from the US and it is cheaper by more than 60%.

300!?!?! Jeeez...
I've had these Brembo's on '08 Tmax which uses the same callipers as our s10... They have a nasty bite compared to stockers. I have no clue how much they gonna last, but i don't really care if they perform like on that scooter i had.
