OK, I've decided to join the ranks of former Vstrom owners (thanks dcstrom and Drit_Dad!) and make the jump from my K5 Wee. Honestly reading about Nick Sanders and Davide Biga's combined 100k+ miles with pretty much nothing but a burned out headlight pushed me over the edge. I was considering a GS and love them but I think I'll take my $US5k and have more fun with it on the S10 ;D

Pretty much just need to decide on Blue or Black ...

I do have a few farkling/modding questions which I will post up elsewhere .... I'll admit I am inspired by the work Wasp and Woody have done on the wheels also and am looking forward to getting this bike in the garage and tinkering with it and riding the snot out of it!

I'm in Monument, Colorado with 100's of miles of dirt USFS road right out the door and look forward to getting this bike out there - well they are kind of block at the moment due to the forest fires we are having but that will eventually settle down.

Cheers.
Chris

@colorider and murphco - where di you guys buy? I have Vickery down to 13,200 new or 12,500 for their blue demo with 350 miles on it. I have never dealt with them before. Coyote was super nice to me and seemed like decent guys - haven't called them back yet. Where would you recommend and want to tell me what you paid?

Thanks and I will honk if I see ya!

I bought mine from Fort Collins Motorsports. Good folks to deal with. I bought my FJR (and my Burgy) from them as well. Not sure what's the best deal going now with them since I think the MSRP has gone up some since the PDP. Give Ryan a call and tell them I sent you and see what he can do.

Good luck!!

Hey Chris! Welcome to the asylum! I just got back from the MSTA rally in Avon, CO. Didn't get as far west as Monument but did enjoy the Tenere on some great roads around Independence Pass and Stemboat Springs. Good luck on finding a deal you are happy with and stop back often to let us know how you are getting along with the new bike and what farkles you add to it.

Welcome - Like colorider, I bought mine from Ft Collins Motorsports. Great bunch to deal with. I know that they had a couple in stock (at least one blue one as of last week). I know that's a bit north of Monument though. Sounds like a pretty good deal at Vickery.

Bought mine at Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza from Bob, I've bought 3 bikes from them over the past few years, Bob remembers my name etc..I wanna say I walked out the door at $12,500...no panniers, but with 3 years scheduled maintenance and free oil changes as well

I know they have had those two at Vickery for a while now and they have been hitting Craigslist hard for a while, do a search for Tenere on there and 100 ads come up from them...

They also had two down at Fremont Motorsports in Florence, their blue demo was pretty decked out with crash bars, skid plate, panniers etc.

$13,200 with panniers is pretty good

Don't know the guy, but 750 non-demo miles sounds better to me
That is sweet looking - I've sent him a PM - thanks for the heads up. I would probably make slightly different add on choices but ... I'll let you know.

FC i not too far for me - I'd rather deal with good folks. The Vickery deal does not include cases - if it did I'd be all over it at 13,200.

Stand by ...

Welcome on, tpak from Colorado. That's a nice place, except of course for Colorider. He's here now, so you're ok for a while. Good luck with your colour choice. I won't try to persuade you either way. I won't even tell you the colour of my black bike. ::004:: R. ::022::
